Draglin opens the heavy door, which takes a moment even for the very strong dragonborn. It is weighted to close, but not lock, so he must hold it open for the others. Dante's sunrod casts light down a short hallway that branches to the right. The dust and grime on the floor has been disturbed, but is thick along the sides of the wall and spiderwebs hang from unlit torch sconces, their contents long rotted away.

OOC: Map updated, though you can only see the short corridor right now until Dante moves, I assumed he would pick up his sunrod. This will accelerate things though.

Please move your characters on the map and make a perception check when you get to the room.

Dante nods to Mab and Draglin, then walks through the door, Virgil walking guardedly in front of him. When they reach the corner, Virgil warily walks into the room as Dante looks around the corner, tossing the sunrod down next to Virgil in case he needs his hands free.

OOC: To keep things moving, we could assume we all gathered around Devinihm and made Heal checks (aiding whomever had the highest bonus for auto-stabilize), then Max dropped his first Surge+2d6 heal on Devinihm.

Max gets up and scans the area one more time before heading to the door. On the ground he sees a fallen comrade. Damn, why didn't I see him before. Pointing to Devinihm. Get up friend. We've got more work to do. The warlord then follows behind Dante.

ooc: Perception Check: 13

ooc: Sorry jkason. Devinihm gets HS + 2d6. Go ahead and roll it.

Dante sees a room of dark intent, made more malicious by the stark shadows his sunrod casts throughout. Several torture devices stand about the room: the rack, the wheel, a chair with thumbscrews and more of less well known intent. In the middle stands a more upright piece. Nothing moves and it is as still as a tomb. Virgil turns his head to the right, indicating an exit perhaps.

OOC: Okay got 1 perception so far, I am tracking them.

Draglin moves forwards cautiously. These foul creatures could make pits appear out of nowhere, tables and doors attack and all kinds of foul magic stuff. No doubt with their dark dragon powers. He is thinking so hard, that he is not paying much attention to his surroundings.

OOC: Perception=8

Map updated :)

Devinihm, wilden druid

OOC: Thanks muchly, dimsdale. :)

The scattering of insects moves lethargically, though at Max's encouragement, those remaining living pieces of the swarm scuttle about with renewed energy. They devour their dead fellows, growing fat on them, then the stouter insects begin to split, spawning new beetles, wasps, and flies at an alarming rate, until once again a roiling swarm spins in the air. Then they pull tight, coalescing once more into the young wilden's natural form.

"It is all right, auntimab, we are alive," Devinihm says. "It is the way of the swarm: the weaker members die, and the stronger breed themselves. It makes us stronger, yes?"

Still, the wilden seems a bit dazed by the entire affair, moving into and looking about the new room cautiously.

OOC: Devinihm has low light vision if that's relevant. He also has a +1 if the check involves traps. Perception (1d20+11=24)

[sblock=healing]If I have it right, Devinihm was at -2 prior to this.

Inspiring Word (2d6+12=20)

Spending 2 more surges to bring him to 42[/sblock]

[sblock=resources]HP: 44/51
Surges: 8/11[/sblock]

OOC: [MENTION=2710]jkason[/MENTION], in 4e whenever you are healed from below 0, your hp are set to 0 before any healing is applied. For example, if you are at -85hp and are healed 1 hp, you are at 1 hp. I think that puts you at 44.

Most of the group is still in the hallway, but Dante and Devinihm get a good look inside.

[sblock=Dante and Devinihm] No traps visible, though the item in the middle appears to be a full length mirror. Perhaps meant to add to the torture experience? Only one door out.[/sblock]

OOC: Go ahead and move again if you want. Nothing will happen without Mab, likely, no need to roll perception again, but feel free to do other skills.
