Adventure: Fire and Ice

-''He is fleeing! The coward is fleeing! Ouch. Stupid beast.''

Hadrak is hopping mad at the fleeing gnoll, so much so that he fails to see the sneaky hyena's attack and then when launches a counter strike he misses. Oh, who cares? Yanni if fleeing! What a ****** *** ***** **** ****!

[sblock]
I don't think I need to shift since Crag dragged the hyena back, but if necessary' I shift south.
vs Hyena (1d20+6=7, 1d8+7=9) miserable miss[/sblock]

[sblock=...]Dorn is up, right?

Shall we just go out of order to try to finish off the beast and get things moving again? (I'm assuming there's no hope of running down the gnoll.)[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]
Yes, feel free to post in whatever order you like. I had the gnoll run in order to speed things up for you guys rather than waste a few days on a pre-determined result. I'll more than likely move things along after noon EST if nobody else kills the boar by then

Infuriated that his enemies will not stand and face him, Crag charges the hyena and brings his sword down upon it, drawing a line of blood across it's shoulder. Rage unsubsided, he continues to hack at the hyena, venting his anger on his enemy.

"WHY" *thwack* "WILL" *swing* "YOU" *slice* "NOT" *stab* "A-" *hack* "TTACK" "ME!?" *slash*

[sblock=Actions]
-Standard: Charge attack vs hyena. This hits for 7 damage.

IF the 7 points of damage does NOT kill the hyena, Crag will spend his action point to attack once more with Strength of Stone. This hits for 7 damage, and will give him another unstacking 5 temp HP.

If it's still not dead, he will use a free action to mark it.

[sblock=Crag's Stats]
Crag - Warforged Warden 1
Passive Perception 15, Passive Insight 10
AC 20, Fort 16, Reflex 12, Will 12
HP 42/42 + 5 THP, Bloodied 21, Surge Value 10, Surges 14/14
Speed 6, Initiative +0
Action Points: 0, Second Wind
At-Will Powers: Warden's Fury, Warden's Grasp, Strength of Stone, Thorn Strike
Encounter Powers: Earth Spikes, Warforged Resolve
Daily Powers: Form of the Willow Sentinel (Form of the Willow Sentinel Attack)

Note on Warden's Fury and Warden's Grasp:

Warden's Fury gives me a free attack against any of my marked foes adjacent to me that attack any of my allies (as an Immediate Interupt). If it hits, it does my normal basic attack damage, but it also makes the target grant combat advantage until the end of my next turn.

Warden's Grasp lets me slide any of my marked foes within 5 squares of me that attack any of my allies. The slide is one square and it also slows them and doesn't allow them to shift until the end of it's turn (this is an Immediate Reaction). [/sblock]

[sblock=Hyena down]I think Crag's first attack would have done it... renau1g's last status showed it having 16 hp left, but I think we figured out that due to Divine Challenge going off on it, it was actually down to 7 hp...[/sblock]

Dorn quickly surveys the inside of the monastery to make sure no hyenas are alive before shouting out.

"Are we going... Should we run after that gnoll?" Dorn asks. There is more than a little hesitation in his voice. Dorn is no coward, but he does not relish the idea of leaving the relative safety of the monastery walls without knowing what is on the other side.

OOC: Dorn hasn't acted yet - do we want to chase this guy?

"We will never catch the him" comments Skalisss, knowing well his own speed and judging the speed of his allies. "We are better off resssting and preparing our defensesss".

Ingot nods. "It was cowardly, but tactically sound for Yanni to retreat," it comments. "Much as I would like to chase him down, resting and preparing is the tactically sound move for us right now."
