Adventure: Hey! That's Not Wayne's Basement! (DM: H.M.Gimlord, Judge: Ozymandias79)

[sblock=Tenchuu]This is too cool. I'm not going to peak because I like surprises (if you can't tell already), but I just have to say that this is the first time I've ever DMed a game where the players held a secret conference and kept me out. Too cool. XP for this one[/sblock]

[sblock=HM]To quote bad 90s PSAs: "I learned it by watching you!"

Seriously. This has been a really enjoyable experience so far. Thanks everyone!

The celebration of Rujah’s dramatic eradication of the sewer rats is interrupted by a loud, annoying sound that resembles a battle cry…. well, not quite.

“Aaaaaaaaaaaagh!” Running footsteps thunder up the stairs at the rear of the antechamber.

Wishing to make some room and establish a perimeter at the top of the stairs, the Bandit charges once more. Aware now of the wolf at the landing, he carefully steps to the side as Dayna lunges. The maneuver, however costs him his momentum, and his attempt to shove Talon out of the way simply results in an embarrassing collision with Talon’s tough hide armor and a ricochet off the wall. The bandit looks up at Talon with a sheepish grin, shrugs and darts back down the stairs. Talon jabs with his spear, tripping the bandit as he reaches the landing. Tumbling down the stairs he calls out to his pets, “Gonna need a little help boys!”

The dragonspawn duo rise to their handler's command. The first drake hurls itself up the stairway, snapping at Talon. Dayna manages to snag a wing before the drake’s attack connects, but the foul beast’s teeth still manage to rip into Talons side.

Talon lunges forward defensively, to parry the attack, but when the teeth sink into his ribs, it’s all he can do to hurl the beast over his head and against the wall behind him. Turning to face the drake, and breathing hard, he doesn’t even notice Dayna’s bark as the second drake flies up the stairs.

Snarling, Dayna throws her body in the drakes path, knocking it against the far wall of the antechamber, but whatever damage it did is not enough to overcome the drake's advantage of surprise over its intended target. Talon doesn’t even have time to turn around. The redirected drake tears into Talon’s right forearm, and not wanting to stick around to face the wolf’s ire, retreats down the stairs to its master.

"Fenwick decided not like rats very much. Now injured with many lacerations from rats. Owie. Owie."

[sblock=ooc]
I'm in pretty bad shape. I'd request a heal, but it looks like Talon may need it more. I'm going to charge the drake in G16 if nobody objects, but if he retaliates, I may go down.

By the way, do I still take the continuing damage now that the rats are dead?[/sblock]

[sblock=BB]Actually, yes you do still take OG until you make a save (thanks for reminding me :devil:), so roll one at the end of this turn. If you want to charge the drake, remember you do have an AP with which you can spend a second wind. This would allow you to spend a healing surge and gain +2 to your defenses against the drake's 'retalliation'. Riardon also has another Inspiring Word that he could use on either you or Talon (but not both).[/sblock]

Fenwick grunts, catches his breath, and steels himself for his next action, then with fantastic speed, he vaults over the scattered debris, charging headlong at the monster in the opposite corner, striking with a mighty blow of his enormous axe.

Should Rujah move into the corridor, or attack the Drake Fenwick attacked? Guessing block the passageway, since I've more HP than Dayna or Talon, and can save them some suffering.[/sblock]
