[sblock=OOC]OK. WD's time is up, so I'll post for him. I'll likely be waiting until Monday to update status since WD is not likely to post until then, but here goes[/sblock]Usually wanting to lead from the front, Riardon finds himself at the rear of the pack. The sinking feeling is made even worse by the grievous woulds that Talon has suffered. As he moves forward, he also notices that Talon’s wounds are healing quickly, but not quickly enough to withstand a second attack from the drake, even if he gets in a good defensive strike.
[sblock=Actions]
Move: Double move to G16, standing over the dead drake
Minor: Inspiring word
Target: Talon
Effect: Talon gains 1d6+6=10hp[/sblock]The drake screams in agony as he’s impaled by Talon’s spear. As he writhes dying, the party turns toward the stairs breathing hard and angry beyond belief. The man at the bottom of the stairs is equally angry,
“And just what da yooou thank yooou’re doing dawn heee’re. Cahn’tchee see yeee’re nat wonted? Gooo bock ta wheeere ye came frem!” The drake on the stairs hisses angrily through bloodsoaked teeth, obviously disturbed by the loss of its brother. The handler looks beat and crestfallen, but his eyes glare with a desire for revenge.
On top of the curses that follow the bandit’s initial expression of frustration, the party realizes that these two are not alone. Behind him, several others have been hauling chairs, benches, ale pitchers and other larger items, and stacking them in a pile so as to block the passageway. At the back of the room, you can’t see, but you hear a table being dragged across the floor.
As the bandit is finishing his tirade, a man steps forward to the bottom of the stairs, for whom it seems out of character to be spending time in such a foul-smelling and unkempt place. He is well dressed, well groomed, and, seemingly, well mannered. He lifts his gaze to address the party, projecting his voice like a stage actor above the cracking and grating of furniture.
“I see that you are not exactly the night-watch, so would you mind my asking who or... what [obviously this man has seen neither a shifter nor an orc before]you are, and why you’ve decided to invade our place of meeting?” Though the others continue the work of stacking the pile, he holds eye contact with Talon and Fenwick, as though he’s willing to wait all day for the response.[sblock=Status]
