[sblock=BB]With 4 successes and no failures, you can afford to take some risk. I would go for something on the primary skill list even though diplomacy is your trained skill. Failure won't cost you much and success moves you further along. Plus, between the two of us I'm sure we can come up with a creative story to compliment both the skill choice and the result. Before Fenwick goes back down, he suddenly gets an idea. A good one even. "Everybody stop cacophony. Fenwick listen at door."

Fenwick listens at the door intently for a loooooong time, brow furrowed, nodding every now and then. Suddenly a look of embarrassment falls across his face and he shakes his head slamming his palm to his forehead several times.

[sblock=Fenwick]Failure - Perception: The din behind the door is loud and busy, dishes clanking, people yelling, but all jumbled together in Common so much that you can't keep up with your thesaurus. Then, suddenly you swear that you can hear high, thin voices, and you can even make out words. They sound something like...

"Hey! See!? Yeah! We, three, see!..." Then you realize that you've been shifting your weight back and forth on the top stair which is a little loose and squeaky.

[sblock=OOC] Kudos for giving it a try. For my part?... So I had to stretch a little, but how'd I do?[/sblock][/sblock]

[sblock=HM] Did fine. Perfectly in character. It was a stretch for me too. Sorry if I held things up, but I was really at a loss for what to do for a while there.[/sblock]

Fenwick tromps back down the stairs. "Definitely people conversing up there. Fenwick no perceive what they say, though."

NP. I can't remember which it was, my father or my experience as a six-year-old that taught me: Comedy and drama are the best response to undesirable outcomes to your well-laid plans;). BTW. If you are ever at a loss for creativity in playing an orc, check out KenHood's character Tonk over on Can Dextyr Keep All These Strikers Alive? That'll get your juices flowing. [/sblock]

Apologies if I'm simply being dense, but what did Rujah learn? That the entire back wall of the cellar was artificial, while the other three were mostly naturally carved out? I've been a bit sleep-deprived, so I'm running about an 8 int right now instead of my usual 12 or so. ;) [/sblock]

[sblock=Theroc]Sorry. I'm trying to be literary and not informative enough, I guess.

Yeah. There's a man-made wall behind the casks. Whereas the other three walls -as well as the floor- are carved out of the bedrock.

It seems as though this wall divides the original subterranean level to form two areas. This cellar, and... whatever's on the other side of that wall.[/sblock]

Riardon

Riardon takes a look at the back wall and pounding on it with the pommel of his sword, hearing intently.

Jin walks over to the big barrels and examines the wood, trying to determine if it's real wood. He also pours out some of the barrel contents to examine as well.

Nature Check -- sorry guys.
