Adventure: Into the Wild

OOC: forgot if after help is allowed. It is intended as aid another, but it can stand as-is

Rocco looks at goblinoids weapons coming into his hands. He is glad that others are showing sense enough to run, but he considers for the moment wether helping the dryad and holding the band off could help especially given his short legs.

After even paladin starts running Rocco barrels after them at full speed, trusting in his constitution to help him keep the speed up. In unfamiliar environment he focuses on the ground not to make wrong step and hits undead paladin from behind just as he started to fall supporting him and even carrying him on his shoulder for a step or two.

Endurance (aid another if allowed) (1d20+10=21) - success regardless if that's aid another or not :)

"Already out of breath, Queen's Spawn? I thought you didn't need to breathe!"

The bump by Rocco stirs Renquist onward. The two run tirelessly.

"I think of myself more as a pawn of Lauto."

[sblock=actions] Endurance check: 1d20+10+2 → [16,10,2] = (28) Roll Lookup [/sblock]

Erm, I'm sorry for missunderstanding, but my roll was for aid another to Renquist IF YOU ALLOW IT, otherwise normal skill challenge roll for Rocco NOT AID ANOTHER for some random future roll. I will abide by your ruling, just saying what was the intent if you'll make it into success...

EDIT: but FourMonos already ninja'd me :O

[sblock=OOC]There's no retroactive aid and there's no 'either it's an aid or a skill depending on X'.

In the first OOC line You said it's intented as aid another so I treated it as such without much more thoughts. Otherwise, what am I supposed to do with a failure or a roll that is high enough for Aid but not the skill challenge?

There is no safety net when you roll for a skill challenge. It's clearly labelled as such or I will always treat it as an aid.

The heroes flee madly through the forest and after a while they have put enough distance between them and the pursuit to have some breathing room. But... where is Abigail? They realize belatedly in horror that she must have fell behind at some point in the pursuit. Too late to do anything about it. And by the sound of it, the pursuit is not abandoned; wolves howlings can be heard. Goblins are notorious for tamiong wolves. If they bring some on this pursuit, they will pick up the trail soon enough.

The heroes find themselves in a small clearing with a crystal clear pond as they catch their breath.

The Pond is a gateway, mortals. Using it is your only chance!

The voice of the dryad rings in the adventurers head, sowing confusion.

[sblock=Tally]
9 successes, 2 failures

Everyone but Renquist yet to act in round 4

New Skills: Arcana

Yes, that's it! I don't think many players are even trained in Arcana so Aid another is going to be a must along with a bit of luck to make the end of this challenge entertaining.

Skills that will be automatically accepted to aid (beyond arcana): Nature, Religion and Athletic (You're swimming, are you not? ;) )

Without hesitation, Dante and Virgil leap into the pond, the smoke roiling off the devil-lizard joined by steam as the water hits his infernal skin.

[sblock=Aid another success]Athletics 1d20+9=16[/sblock]

"Ibram, you're only one with magic knowledge. You focus on getting us through I'll keep you alive on the trip. Nementah, summon that horse of yours, everyone can feel it's presence and it can help keep us together instead of flinging us every which way!"

OOC: Tactics IC :) Expect the fight on the other side
