(Adventure) Slaying the Dreamer [Judge: Uriel]

Jack Haggerty

First Post
Jack peers around the stump at the front door of the house. He looks back toward where his companions crouch in the woods, wondering just what exactly is keeping 'The Caller'. He squints into the dim evening until he can barely make out the tall, young warrior prancing about with his sword swinging while wearing the noble woman's cloak.

"Humans..." he mutters to himself in exasperation.

[OOC=Meta] Do we want to try a different plan? The slave idea maybe? It doesn't look like Draven (jasamcarl) has posted in the last two and a half weeks. Can we NPC-ify him for a while? [/OOC]

[Sucks to be Jamablah]

"Where do you think Jack want the animal?" Dravin asks Fant. I don't think the front door is very useful, since the alarm is triggered anyway and the guards won't bother to say a password...

"A window is most likely to make them come out to investigate, and then say the password coming and going," Says Fant after a moment's thought. "That or the chimney."

"Very well." says Dravin, and he begins casting his spell.

Some moments later a hawk appears and crashes full speed and with a loud bang into the west window, which cracks...and then the hawk disappears.

Seconds later, the door flies open and one human in leather armor, sword drawn, runs out and quickly, almost panicked, looks around.

"Who is there!" he shouts, as he cautiously (sp?) makes his way to the cracked window

Jack carefully peeks around the stump to see if the front door had been left open. While he's at it, he'll take a good look at the guard to see what they're up against.

The guard left front door open.

He's human and looks a bit frightened. He's wearing leather armor and is wielding a longsword with some sort of light spell cast on it. He constantly looks around, but doesn't move more than a few feet away from the house, as if the house is protecting him...

OOC: Ooooo... Dare I? I need to think about that for a moment.

Jack keeps an eye on the door, waiting until the guard has gone around the corner of the house. He rummages about his hiding spot, feeling around for a fist-sized stone.

You don't find any stones in reach.

The guard moves to the windows and tries to determine what hit it and where it came from. The guard doesn't appear to move much further away that that. The light of the guard's sword doesn't reach the door anymore...

Seeing his opening, Jack mutters to himself, "Well, it's now or never," and makes his move.

Huddling beneath his cloak, Jack takes a quietly cautious step out from behind the stump...

Jack will step out from behind the stump and head for the door. If an alarm sounds, he'll dive back into his hiding spot. If not, he'll quietly move to the doorway, and look for a hiding spot somewhere inside.

Hide +12, Move Silently +10.
