(Adventure) Trek to the Vinyard...

Apologies I unexpectedly didn't ahve access to a computer for a while

ooc/ Sorry I found myself computerless :(, I'll try to join back in now, though I might not join the conversation as such/ooc

Felix is strangely quiet throughout the conversation but isn't unfriendly or dour, just attentive.

(ooc/ sorry to go back to this/ooc)

At the point when the fetish was passed to him he attempts to recall if he has seen anything of that sort before in his religious experience.

Using Knowledge: Religion (+4 total bonus)he tries to recall if the fetish has religious meaning.

Thurgan listens and nods attentively as he listens to the story of Gunnerson. When Rinaldo heads out to speak with Frederick, Thurgan follows - curious to see if he recognizes Frederick as a member of the trade (smiths) and to view his workmanship.

"If'n ya don't mind, I'd like ta tag along and hear the smiths's side o' the story," Thurgan asked of Rinaldo.

"No problem. If he don't want to talk to me, maybe he will listen to another member of his profession, but if you don't mind, I<ll try to speak to him first."

"Well," Troi says, leaning back in his chair, "that's... um... helpful." He shrugs. "So y'say that the guy watchin' ya turned into an animal? Well, that's not exactly what I'd call 'natural'..."

Knowledge check to see if I can recall hearing about anything that would vaguely resemble what Gunnerson described. Not sure what kind of knowledge check that would be; Nature +6, Arcana +4, and all others would be +2.

"If the tracks are still there, I could probably find 'em." Troi says. "Find out where they lead, an' all that." He turns to the rest of the group. "So we could probably just head to where the wagon is, without goin' ta the vinyard itself. If we don't find anythin', then we could head to the vinyard an' see what they got to say, y'know?"

He shrugs. "So, thoughts? Head to th' vinyard first, and see what they'll tell us, or just head right to the wagon an' see if we can find anythin'?"

Rinaldo and Thurgan

You leave the table and head back outside to the yard. The men are still at whatever tasks that they were doing before, including the large man shoeing the Pony. Approaching and intrducing yourself, you find him an friendly enough fellow. Frederick says 'Yeah, I was there. Looked like some sort of animal had torn the drivers apart, horses too, form the look of the scene. Not much of any bodies, though. Gunnar thinks that some sort of witchery was involved, but that's just crazy. Pack of rabid wolves maybe, maybe even some of those really big wolves that you hear tell of some time, the Dire Wolves. Gunnar talked and talked about some man turning into a wolf or some such that he saw, but i didn't see nothing of the kind. He needs a rest, maybe a week in the City would help the poor sot.'

<Sense Motive reveals that Fred thinks Gunnar is a bit 'off', perhaps. Not lyng but he thinks he saw things that just were not there>

Thurgan doesn't recognize
Frederic as a Guildmember, but that wouldn't seem odd. Many of the Roadwardens learned their craft in the Royal Army or from other Roadwardens. The work looks sound, if not pretty. The Horseshoes look a sight better tha standard, though a few weapons sitting around seem of average quality. Most likely, the man specializes in the hazards of the road. Thrown shoes, rims for wheels on carts and wagons, componants for tack and bridles and the like.

The fetish has a strangely familiar if not specific feel. It could be Orcish or Goblin in origin.

Troi
< Troi is baffled as to what this could be ...Rolled a '1', sorry :D >

Gunnarson shakes his head sadly 'I'm afraid it rained yesterday morning, a light drizzle, but enough to wash away any Tracks, friend.'

"I'm afraid it rained yesterday morning, a light drizzle, but enough to wash away any tracks, friend."

Troi shrugs. "I'm not worried 'bout a little rain. Only serves ta emphasize the tracks, y'know? I've been trackin' critters for a long time now, through rain an' snow an' a few other nasty places, so a little rain shouldn't mess me up."

Thurgan appraises the workmanship from a small distance, not wanting to be rude to the man or critical of his work. After seeing of the products, he stepped closed to talk with the man.

"Some good work, you've got there on those shoes. Very good work. Say . . . anything else odd happen here abouts other than the wagon?" Thurgan asked.

Gunnarson shrugs at Troi's assenssment of th ease of tracking after a rainfall. Maybe the man had been out on the Sun too long today.
Sipping his water, he waits a few moments longer for any questions that the group may have, though it looks as if he wished to get to his work.
Gesturing to the fetish, the Roadwarden says 'Keep that thing, if it helps you. I don't want it near me anymore, it gives me a bad feeling.'

Rinaldo & Thurgan

Frederick replies 'Well, I claim to be no Master, friend, but my skills do justice to the meagre tasks I find here for my arms and hammer.' Frederick seemed a likeable enough fellow, though he was talking while continuing to shoe the Pony. He had the air of someone that wanted to get back to work.

<Any more questions here?>

Felix shares the information
"The fetish looks Orcish or Goblin, coupled with the reports of the 'beast'. We may be looking at an animal or 'beast' cult here. why they would be acting like this though is open to conjecture, it could just be some exploration of animal or predator instinct.

What do you others think?"

He looks around at the others.

"One last thing, before we leave you to your work. Except that attack, is there any other unusual event that have happen lately. Anything, even if you think there is any relation with the attack."

Rinaldo looks at the two halflings.

"You too, have you seen anything unusual?"
