@Thomas
I think your absolutely right, although this thread isn't about art ;-)
But i think it will only get worse before it gets better, there's allready a glut of D20 material out there and from the look of things it will only get more gluttenous. People/companies want to get 'rich' quickly by jumping on the D20 bandwagon, often corners get cut due to lack of funding, experience, or due to plain old maximizing profit. There are a couple of things that can happen: mediocre art, unprofessional editing, and of course the unexperienced layout artist... Often it's all three, the worst is when there's a lot of uninspired writing (we have to fill a complete book with the psycology of X for example).
It's not just that it goes for art, but it works for all parts of publishing, you get what you pay for. I just wish that it also was true for the consumer :-(
@Michelle
What? But you edited the rulebook (and the internal bible, i wonder what that is ;-) Ahh... Give us a bone ;-)
No prob Lady A. I might not be around the DS forums as much as i used to, but the SR writing is still much appreciated (and editors don't get praised that often).
I like FFG's books (just wish i could get them sooner around here), i'm looking forward to the 'splat' books that they'll produce. To be honest, although i do own both WoT books (they are very beautifull), i don't really like gaming in that world, it just seems wrong (i do like to read them though, just like the R.J. books)...
