Angel and Enterprise rumors/tidbits

First Post
Angel

I won't say much (unless it's asked of me), but this:
If the rumor is true, I will be getting one of my wishes for the show this season
.

Enterprise

First, Enterprise is gonna be moved to 9pm - right opposite Angel. Bleh, I hope they show re-runs, because it's no contest which show I'd choose to watch.

Second, Paramount is considering canning Berman if ratings in February don't pick up.

Oh, that's helpful

This is probably a good move for the show. If you think it isn't a contest with Angel, imagine the trouble it's having against Smallville, which has higher ratings thatn Angel does.

Typically, UPN shows a rerun of Enterprise on the weekend. Check your local listings. There's also the dead spots between sweeps and the summer in which to catch up :)

It's in the article, and it's a VERY major spoiler. If you've read any of my comment on Angel, it's still a major spoiler. But since you eye-rolled :p...
Fred supposedly dies in episode 5.15, and chances are Cordy dies after her stint is up as well
.

***Spoilers***

Berman did some alright stuff... but, he, and any of his cronies, need to go.

I had hoped Enterprise would bring some of the grittier elements of DS9 while keeping the feel of ST we all know. There was some success... but I found only one out of every three or four eps really enjoyable.

I still feel that they should have waited a year before putting out Enterprise. It would have given them some more time to really define what they wanted to do (instead of changing things once a season).

Had the characters and actors... just not enough story 'oomph'.

Why do you want Fred dead? She is real hot...

for someone so skinny. :D

By the by... anyone know if it was Paramount or Berman who pushed Enterprise out the door so fast?

First, I put "it" in spoiler tags for a reason. I'd ask you to do the same, since not all of this is spoilers.

Second, it's not that Berman needs to go (though he does), it's that they need someone with fresh ideas.

As for Enterprise, IIRC what became Andromeda was initially pitched to Paramount and turned down. I think that's why lit a fire under their butt to get something out.

Moving Enterprise out from Smallville and against Angel is such a STUPID move, its not even funny.

Sure, Smallville gets better ratings than Angel, but a lot of it is from teenage girls. Angel probably attracts more older geeks than Smallville does. Or at least the same amount. Which means Star Trek will at least lose audience to people who don't know about the time change and West Wing and gain audience from nowhere.

Geniuses at work.

Well, they rebroadcast Enterprise on Saturdays, which is when I'll watch it from now if I'm around then since I'm not giving up West Wing (and frankly don't find Enterprise to be worth taping - which alone says something, as I've taped all of the other Treks).

I saw no 'tags' just 'spoiler' in-line on your reply to Umbran. That and 'rumors/tidbits' in the thread title was warning enough for me... apologies though.

:D Heh, seems the same to me.

The big P should have took Andromeda... then they could have butchered that! Heck... maybe it would have stayed consistant on their watch. Thanks also... have an idea of why it may have happened so quick.

As to the fresh ideas for ST: E... even with new management it will be very difficult so far as I can see. They would have to pull a serious coup and get writers and directors who have nothing to do with Trek as we know it.
That would mean a producer with the stuff to keep the broad picture of what we know visible (I come back to DS9... love it or hate it I believe that is what kept ST going till now. Just when you thought they were giving up on the (sorry for this) 'vision', they showed how they were setting up the 'moral'... wonder what the Berman lost since then...).

Anyhow... goin' a little off top'. At the very least Berman should just be a guiding hand... let someone else take over day to day.

I'm a long time Star Trek fan, but I'd have to stick with Angel ... taping which ever one I didn't get to watch (or hijacking my gf's vcr to tape both)
