Animé d20 OoC

Shayuri: yes, that would be about right, but then you factor in racial points (6), class abilities, defects, and any scores you feel your character shouldnt have 10 in.. it starts looking a little better. The mech pilot I might need a little more detail before letting go, might interfere with plot. The second idea, however, is perfectly fine, and the third as well (remember, Imerak wants a gun-bunny as well, though I'm not sure wether this would en- or discourage you). I love these games too! So much potential.

Kafkonia: At the point this game starts, you're all on your home plane and dont even know of other dimensions, so the helping D rangers idea will have to wait until you meet them. The dimensional portal might not occur as often as you'd like to have a sixth sense in, but if you do decide that's how it's going to go, there will be some opportunities, and i'll try to make it worth the points. Other than that, sounds like a fine character.

Goblin: Perfect. A crazy ninja chick (note, to any who may be offended: the use of the word chick is a replacement of the word female and does not represent higher or lower esteem for said character. I may use dude in the same way for males in the future) is just what this game needs. I've always been a fan of blind fury myself... as long as the whole party doesnt just start going phycho that is, and jump will most likely come in handy in some cases.

Hmm, this is starting to look like a good party. And after under a days recruitment too. I'll still take further irecruits, but this means you may not make it. Or someone already posted may not, but probably you. I'm just that kind of person.

Smee. That works well, since I had already started leaning towards the 'magic book' idea. Gives me a bit more potential for amusement, with the snarky old magic tome who despairs of ever making me a REAL wizard, as I desperately thumb through pages looking for Just The Right Spell.

One question! Are we using Dynamic Sorcery, or Magic rules?

That's fine by me.

As for the Sixth Sense, would "extraplanar objects and people" make more sense? Sixth Sense is a class feature for Student, after all. :)

Hey, our characters could be classmates!

Oooo...I like it!

Hang on...my first draft is nearly ready for posting.

Hmm...another question! This line in the SRD makes me think we don't actually have to "pay" for being human?

"In Anime d20, the default race for a character is human (normally worth 6 Character Points). Consequently, the final number of Character Points assigned to a race equals the calculated value minus 6. This adjustment means being a human is “free;” no Points must be assigned for this race. Other races are adjusted accordingly."

If so...I have 6 points more than I thought I did. :)

Shayuri: Either one is fine by me, though you may have to run the specifics by me just in case. Other than that, great character idea. And unfortunetly, humans are only free in the sense that you don have to pay any of your 40 points to be one. Their 6 points are actually spent already (bonus feat, bonus skills, no multiclass penalties). No bonus 6, sorry!

Kafkonia:Extraplanar objects and people makes much more sense, and will be a far greater advantage to both you and the story.

Well, right...that's what I mean.

Being human doesn't cost character points. Out of those 40, we spend like...34 or so on stats, leaving 6 points for Attributes, assuming no Defects.

I was thinking if I spent 34 of the 40 on ability scores, I then had to pay 6 more for being human, meaning I'd have nothing left for Attributes unless I bought defects.

Out of curiosity...right now I'm buying the spellbook as a Servant, but to reflect the fact that they're literally chained together, I took the Permanant defect for it. It seemed a bit awkward though... Well, I'll wait until I post the finished product to ply you for opinions. :)

Goblin, you're having the same problem Shayuri did. The 6 points for a race are bonus ratial points in adition to the 40 character points. As a human and using those 6 points evenly, you have 40 CP, giving you 6 more. It's only when you have a race built with more than 6 points total that it starts cutting into your CP pool.

Glad you like her! I'll try to have the finished version up today.

Oh, thanks for pointing that out! It feels good to suddenly have 6 more points. :D

Great, now we are just waiting on the other three. As this seems like a good sized party, I shall declare recruitment officially over. If we ever need alternates, we'll pick 'em up as necessary. In the mean time, as soon as said other three finish their characters, we can get this party started.
