Another day in the Tavern

[Gene_Kynes]

He smiles to Faeryl. "Thanks for your help...with trying to convince..." the next word is obviously intentional... "Miss Khaira..that Cormyr isn't the best option. Besides, who has a better nightlife than th'Deep?"

He grins, lightly, and then shrugs.

"...Well, you're experienced with Roguery, right? Well...simply put, they have to sneak into your classroom...and snatch something. Then leave. I'll need your permission to trap th'place...th'night before."

He leans close to whisper this...in a way that would hint at conspiracy as he leans back.

 

[Khaira]

No Cormyr

She looks...almost exasperated. *Almost*!
"Hm...so I see COrmyr is obviously out of the question. Maybe I'll ask the students - again - where they want to go...Waterdeep? Krynn? Maybe even SHadowdale. Elminster's Tower would be interesting to see. Of course, he has all of those disturbing signs...And as for the Underdark, Gene...she shivers that's a place that even *I* wouldn't risk going into, for a million platinum pieces! Not if all the Gods demanded me to would I go to that place.
Oh, and just to let you know ... if anything of importance in my classroom gets damaged, I won't be very happy. So, you know...be careful."

Kulideb sips her water as she listerens to the others talk, although she does go a bit pale at the thought of a test for the next day. She was glad it was just water she was drinking at least she would have a clear head the next day.
"Waterdeep would be quite an intresting place to see and shadowdale, although I'm not sure how Elminster would feel on having a class of students desending on him, I heard he likes his privercy!"

She looks over to Faeryl, she quite liked the way the lady Drow talked, but she guessed it could be a pain if you had no choice on the way you speak. She also wondered what sort of traps Gene would be setting, and if she should see a healer before the test!

He glances over to Kulideb, and smiles...oddly.

"If I had not intended that for your ears, Miss Kulideb, I wouldn't've said it. You seem t'have an atpitude towards stealth...so you're getting an entirely different exam."
He smirks, sipping his drink once again.

"You'll be dancing with the shadows...all I can say. And Miss Khaira, how about Sembia? Or exploring the Netherese Ruins? Heh...I could even guide the group on the last one."

Where such a comment would ordinarily be concealed...considering who controls the Anarouch desert lately...Gene acts as if it's an amazingly innocent comment, and would be, considering his bloodline.

Gulps!
" are you sure I'm ready for some thing like that? I know I would love to try it" She said managing to look both pleased and terrified!
" Have you ever been to the city of shade, mist..I mean Gene?" she asked

He looks at Kulideb...and to Khaira's suprise...he...laughs, appearently for the first time! When he recovers, he's watching Kulideb, a smile playing across his features.

"I'll answer that....if you can tell me what a Shadovar is."

thinks hard for a while,
" the shadovar are the ones who trapped the phaerimms originally in a desert prison, an elf and a shadovan let them out, not that long a go" she says a little sadly " I think any way" (she thought the smile and laugh suited him!)

"Had that been a history test, you would've been wrong, Lady Kulideb. The Shadovar were once citizens of an ancient Netherese city. When the city's mythallar failed...the metropolis almost plummeted to the sands, if not the for city's Arch-Arcanist teleporting the entire city into the Plane of Shadow. For Eons, the city brooded...remained unseen....until this passing year, it reappeared, as the city of shade. Those who had been in the city, those who had been born in the city...were...changed. They were much darker, most of them. Some called them human drow, which is a parodox...since drow are drow, and humans and humans. But the gist is fairly easy to catch."

The smile slowly tapers away to his usual melancholic expression, as he finishes.

"And yes, I know of the City of Shade. Very much so, Lady Kulideb. Fair enough answer?"

Blushes at being wrong
"but the shade did help round up the phaerimms, I know that there was a lot of mistrust between the elves, humans and the Shadovans, still is" she said leaning back and looking over to Gene.
"I have never been to the city of Shade, but I have seen it from a distance, I know that when they brought the lake back it could have done a lot of harm, Of course the things I know are based on stories that I have only heard from the elves." she took a sip of water and looked back at Gene.

As she waitsto see if Gene replies she turns to Khaira and Faeryl.
" may be we could go to Everska, its still damaged, but some are starting to rebuild."
