D&D 5E Any good 5e PC generators?

Flexor the Mighty!

18/100 Strength!
Web based preferably. Looking for something that can bang out stated and equipped 5e characters of any level. D&D Beyond's generator was pretty crappy when I tried it. I had all kinds of good onces for 3e.

D&D beyond 12th level Dwarf fighter. Physical stats. 4-7-7. Really? 4 STR? :erm:

Looks like you used the "random" setting on DDB: they are very clear that the random setting is COMPLETELY random.
If by generator you mean "everything is completely automated and I don't make any choices (beyond race & class)", then the DDB character builder is not for you.

If one is willing to do a little bit of work (roll stats or assigning point buy or array stats, etc.), the DDB Character builder works well, at least that's been my experience. They just rolled out a major improvement to starting equipment in the builder. Starting equipment management/choosing was my biggest frustration with DDB's character builder, and the improvements have dealt with that.

Yeah I'm looking for something to generate quick NPC to plug into situations. In the heady d20 days of yore there were a few that did that but with 5e not so much.

Not a fan of those NPC rules honestly. I'd like a tool that could generate a X level Wizard on the fly for me without me doing a lot of work, or en entire evil party the group runs across. Don't own Volo's.
