D&D 5E (2014) Anyone else think the Bard concept is just silly?

I would argue that thematically bards make the most sense as adventurers. They are wandering nomads by default, going from place to place. They are the ones that would get caught up with bandits on the road, or the wandering monster. They are the one someone would go to in town to ask about lore on monster X....leading to a conversation about whats out there.

The bard lifestyle is literally built on adventuring.

I hate how ubiquitous the memes about Bards have become. How they've basically redefined the bard as "narcissist pansexual Deadpool-wannabees". Like, if you play at any table, the Bard is the "break the fourth wall" character who constantly makes jokes about seducing literally everyone.

I agree 100%. The whole bard seducing everything is so stale and overused, it's ridiculous.
