Are ELADRIN attribute bonuses the MOST USELESS?

Also, from what we've seen so far, Eladrin's bonuses make them very good Swordmages. Int is the primary attribute, and Dex is needed for feat prerequisites. Arcane Reach & Heavy Blade Opportunity require 15 Dex at Paragon Tier; the difference between a 12 and a 14 Dex at character creation is 3 points, which is nothing to sneeze at.

Arcane Reach is good, since one of the at-wills we have seen is a close burst 1. Heavy Blade Opportunity, on the other hand, is essential: The Swordmage will be pumping Int all the way, but probably only have a target Str in the 13-15 range for feat prerequisites, making his opportunity attacks much weaker than his standard melee attacks in both attack and damage. In addition, the thunder attack that does extra damage if the monster moves away is an amazing power for OAs, since it has the "you'll regret moving past me" feeling a Defender ought to have. It gives the monster a tough choice: keep moving to the intended target and take damage, or avoid the damage and engage the swordmage.

Eladrin have Fey Origin/Trance. I can't see either weighing too often. no points.

Actually, Trance is one of the coolest things that Eladrin get, IMO. My Eladrin Wizard took the Perception skill and this way we don't have to bother with taking sleep rotations so someone can stand guard while we rest. But my DM does like to ambush us while we sleep from time to time, so I guess your mileage will vary if your DM doesn't ever do that.
 

No sir - your MATH is wrong. In my example the Eladrin is at 16 INT, so he only spent enough points to get to 14, then the +2 racial got him to 16.

The point-buy difference between 14 and 18 IS ELEVEN.

Anyhow - i think ive made my point. Eladrins are sub-optimal for almost every class/build, except Wand-Wizards and maybe Tactical-Spear Warlords. Two very niche, situational builds.

You can play a Dwarven Rogue for all i care - this IS D&D, Roleplaying is the focus - but that doesnt change the fact that Dwarves make sub-optimal (thats polite speak for S-H-I-T-T-Y) Rogues.

So ya, go ahead and play Eladrin Rogues, Rangers, Fighters etc. On sheer game mechanics and balance, you will never make an 'optimal' character - which isnt the end of the world. Its just a fact.

You made your point by ignoring the points made by others. Which is hardly making anything at all.
