Are you planning on participating in Worldwide D&D Gameday 2007?

The WotC site lists a store in Knoxville called Dubious, Inc. running it.

It's called Dubious for a good reason- it doesn't exist! Somebody is scamming wotc for swag and this is at least the second year that they have gotten away with it. Here's a local board where we talked about this-

I can't participate again this year because once again, it takes place on a Saturday. I can never make it on a weekend. Thus the problem with working in the Casino business.

I'll be doing my part to keep the hobby healthy by running the scenario at one of my FLGSs. I hope we have a good turnout of new players, people who want to see what D&D is all about.

The 2nd closest store is on the WotC site as running a gameday event, but they seem iffy about if it is really going to happen.

I may have to volunteer to run a session to get it to happen.

Did WotC make the adventure available electronically or anything like that?

Ciritcal Hit Games in Coralville, IA, had a fairly good turnout last year. Also for Free RPG Day. I'm hoping we'll have a good turnout again this year.

This event is a great way to meet new gamers.

I'm in Memphis, and the closest participating retailer is in Jackson. Long drive, but I'd go, just to "support" the hobby. I would have a heck of a time explaining it to my boss, though. Not to mention my regular game group which is meeting that night.

Never miss it. Any opportunity to help bring new players into the hobby is something I support with time, effort and even some extra prizes.

I'll be GM'ing throughout the day and have picked out a few nice mini's and dice sets that I'll be passing out to new players.

I'll be playing some OD&D(1974) with my regular group, so no, I won't be participating. I'll raise a pint of stout to D&D, though.
