D&D General Baldur's Gate 3 will now be releasing August 3rd on PC and September 6th on PS5, increased level cap, race & class details and more

Do you think there's any chance they would announce a big fat tabletop version of BG3 (understandably like a year later) for 5e. And if not, why not?

Descent into Avernus is obviously a prequel to the game. Perhaps they will follow up on it with a tabletop version of this. It would definitely have a big foundation to build upon, given how wildly popular BG3 has turned out to be.

If they don't release reasonably-priced material on their 3D VTT, right out of the gate, it'll never get off the ground.
I just don't think it will be a massive new module. I think we'll get Strahd or something where they can reuse the most assets.

Every AP has been released on all the VTTs. The official VTT is not going to get that kind of support out of the gate. A module would cost $1000.
I'm not sure I follow, or maybe I wasn't clear. I'm saying that for D&D's 3D VTT, BG3 would be an ideal candidate for an AP/3DVTT bundle right out of the gate since the 3D dungeon and monster assets are already built. There would be a tabletop hardcover/DDB version in addition.

Are they built in the same format? I don't know. if so, I agree! But I assume that they would have to be custom built and there is A LOT happening in BG3 requiring a huge number of assets.

I don't know why they would not be working in tandem with Larian to have a 356 page mega module ready for, say, Christmas.

Likewise. I'm playing a paladin, and his limited healing plus short rests and potions is more than enough to get through most fights. I brought Shadowheart back into the group recently for plot purposes, but found that she was dropping practically every fight, without contributing a great deal.

I multiclassed Shadowheart with monk, partly so she can mix in Way of Shadows when she hits level four, partly because my character is a 2 Light Cleric of Elistrea/1 Storm Sorcerer (more fun then you'd expect, the shapershifter mask triggers storm sorcerers flying) so far, and I found Shadowheart makes a kick as Cleric 1 Trickery/Monk 2, very fun.
