Battlestar Speculation

The Grumpy Celt

As part of the promotion for Season 4, a “Last Supper” themed image of Battlestar has been created. It is at the bottom of this page;

http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/index.php?clip=recap

It has been suggested that the missing seat is reserved for the last of the Final Five Cylons, and that by extension, no one actually pictured at the table is that Final Cylon.

Alright, let’s do some character mathematics.

First; in the “Last Supper” image are, from left to right:

1. President Roslyn
2. Natalie*
3. Saul Tigh
4. (Vacant seat, with a cup)
5. Lee Adama
6. Baltar
7. No. 6
8. Kara Thrace
9. Sam Anders
10. Chief Tyrol
11. Athena
12. Helo
13. Admiral Adama

Second; Known members of the Final Five are;
1. Saul Temeigh
2. Sam Anders
3. Chief Tyrol
4. Torri Foster (not pictured)

Leading to this conclusion;

We already know they are Cylons, so even in Torri is not pictured that does not mean anything. As such, she and the other 12 characters can be eliminated. Further, it would be unfair to introduce a new character this late in the show just to fill out the final Cylon. Lastly, it is possibly but unlikely an established but now “dead” character will return as a Cylon. So, it will probably be one of the other supporting/reoccurring characters.

Possible Candidates:

1. Felix Gaeta
Why Not? However, if he were one, then why did he not hear and respond to the music.

2. Anastasia "Dee" Dualla
Also, why not? However, again, if she were one, then why did she not hear and respond to the music?

3. Cally Tyrol
This would be an interesting wrinkle, given her relationship with Chief Tyrol and the child. However, again again, if she were one, then why did she not hear and respond to the music?

4. Doc Cottle
A long shot, but it would be funny if he were a Cylon. He probably did not respond to the music because he was too busy watching SOAP on DVD.

5. Tom Zarik
This would be a deeply interesting development, but probably won’t happen because Hatch is not close to the production. If it were to happen, maybe he did not hear the music because he was not on Galactica. Or maybe he did hear it but did not know what to make of it.

6. Romo Lampkin
This would also be an interesting development. Perhaps he already knows…

7. TruthSeeker
‘Cause I watched TruthSeeker eating a chocolate chip cookie fresh from the oven and I totally saw that spine light up.

What do you think?

*Natalie is a variation of No. 6. She is supposedly a take-charge type, with a vision of what she wants from the universe for Cylons. I wonder if people will start referring to her as the Imperious Cylon…

I would vote on one of three choices:

Laura Roslin (having a dream shared with No 6, Athena, and her baby is bad mojo.)

Dee, well, as you pointed out, it kinda fits.

Tom Zarik, since some of the others were involved in the rebellion against the Cylons, why not rebellion against humans, too. It would also be kinda poetic, played by Hatch.

One of the others that ... I think Steel Wind (?) had a good point, was Gaeta. I liked his reasoning on Gaeta.

Dee would fit one of the patterns.

All the couples who have gotten married during the course of the show (Helo and Athena, Tyrol and Cally, Starbuck and Anders, Apollo and Dee) have been 1/2 Cylon except for Dee and Apollo. This would round it out nicely.

I think they could get some interesting play out of Zarek though.

So my speculation is that they will reach earth, decide to still keep the fleet hidden, and send a pair of officers down to the planet to ride around on motorcycles and help people. :cool:

I was thinking last night while watching the Battlestar teasers on SciFi, It sounds like Kara comes back and is telling Adama that he's going the wrong direction to earth. One of them could be the cylon trying to mislead the fleet. Kara being the first choice as she was to anyones knowledge dead and then popped up in a Viper. I mean, even if she lived we saw her ship blow up so where'd she get another? Of course, that's the 'we're throwing it in your face obvious answer, so it's probably not so.

Which means Adama is a cylon... I have a hard time seeing that, I mean if they hadn't made Saul one, then maybe. But both of them? Nah.

Sooooo, I have to agree with Volaran. Dee is a good fit.

As long as the humans are headed toward Earth, the Cylons always have an idea where to look for them. If the Cylons really want to destroy Humanity, then making sure they stay on course until they are dead works out pretty well. If humans, even just some humans, head off in another direction, they might get away and breed somewhere else and become a major threat to the Cylons.

See, what I never got is why the Cylons haven't just blown up all the humans yet. I mean, they've got overwhelming forces to do so. They destroyed twelve colonies; why couldn't they destroy a few dozen ships? I don't buy the "the humans are just barely managing to keep ahead of them" idea.

I always figured the Cylons want the humans to reach earth.
