Best 3E era monsters?

I was all over 1E, and don't remember them, but I'm old and have taken many shots to the head over the years. :o

Redcaps were in Tall Tales From the Wee Folk, a 0E Mystara expansion. They were presented as evil brownies. They also appeared in Dragon #158, I think, as evil leprechauns.

Some of the fire/ice monsters in the Epic Level Handbook were from Return to the Tomb of Horrors, I hear.

What are your favorite monsters created during the 3E era? Cite the source too, please, and say what's so cool about said monsters.
What a question.
There can only be one anser:

The biggest fish in the world that eats paper
(from the: Kids' Colouring Book o Critters)

all ohthers are pale imitations.

I love it because:
- if you try to speak his name if he attcks you,
he is still far away with your magic scroll until you finished.
- its from the first pdf Book I baught
- the Kids' Colouring Book o Critters is one of the 3E books
with the coolest idea behind

Reviewing the Creature Weekly series:

Star Titan, 2- invaders from beyond with a twist. They don't strip a planet bare, but do enslave the populace to bring them certain ores to eat (then they reproduce an leave).

Idosi, 4- desert lungfish people.

Bosch Fiend, 4- based upon 15th century Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch. The write up is similar the the psionic astral constructs.

Higgus, 4- cactus people who enjoy long debates. Unlike treants, this is not a slow affair.

Jabberwock, 5- ...

Hounds of Gloucester, 5- Lovercraftian critters. I think the mindbender template from Silverthorn's DBOT would make it better.

Orlin, 6- the reason humans can interbreed with many of the humanoids is they are related. When humanoids are forced to interbreed, a throwback form, the orlin, is brought about.

Xores, 6- playable earth elementals (LA +1).

Balefire Drake, 7- St. George's dragon.

Orobazu, 7- devils that keep an eye on other devils for promotions or demotions. They also are the lawyers of Hell.

Where's Nightfall? He's missing some serious Scarred Lands love (and with the aartaglith, Orcus love) in this thread! ;)
