Best choices for a 9HD Polymorph Other

For a decent dex on a Large creature if you are a fighter type is a Stone Giant

Str +8 Dex +2 Con +4

Pretty decent Natural Armor bonus too.

being an outsider and polymorphing into those forms isn't amazingly broken if you have to work at becoming an outsider. If you have to take an ECL modifier, it seems balance enough. I am doing this now, and I am far outshined by the archer cleric.
Then you're not doing it right. :)

Still too low. Maybe I shouldn't get hung up on being large... The quickling is rather nice- no natural armor, but +9 for size & dex. Unmagical speeds tops out at 60', but still- that's 60'. I used to think you got the feats of the form and was looking forward to spring attack with a speed of 60'. I guess I'll just have to haste, partial charge in, then attack and tumble away. If I'm not using the form to give me natural armor, I can then cast Dragonskin giving me +4 nat arm and contextual energy resistance. At that point I've really got to move beyond my mithril shirt, as I'd want my dex bonus to be more than 6- think of all those skill that'd benefit from an 8! So I just cast mage armor instead. Add my ring of energy shield for a +2 shield bonus and we have... lesee...

+8 dex
+1 size
+2 shield
+4 mage armor
+4 dragonskin
+4 haste
+2 cloak of protection
+7 shield

zarquon's knees!- 42?
Add a 20% miss chance with blur- or 50% with darkness & blindsight....

yum.
