D&D 5E (2014) Best D&D 5e alternate ruleset?

If 5.5 hadn't cone out TotV woukd be tempting.
I think 5.5 and TotV check off different boxes- or at least, they check off the boxes in different ways.. I think TotV does it better (see: TotV's Weapon Options vs. 5.5e's Weapon Masteries, or TotV's spell changes vs. 5.5e's). So if someone liked 5.5's way of doing things, they might not necessarily like TotV's. That being said, TotV really didn't "fix" enough 5e problems for me to switch over, it cleaved too close to 5e as it was (and I did not care for a lot of 5.5's changes, so it's not even in the running). A5E took some more chances, though IMO they could've taken more but for the fear of backwards compatibility.
 

I’m still holding out for @mearls Odyssey game. So far it’s been ticking all the boxes for me. Can’t wait for the finished product!
I should see if there's anything new with that, it's been a month or two since I checked the patreon. ?Unforunately? FoundryVTT implementation is always gonna be a big factor for me, so the best I could realistically hope for is hacking out what bits I like for my A5E games (or I can just port it all over into the A5E foundry system, since it's a lot nicer than the 5e system in most parts).

Well i woukd be in the market for 1 5E spin off not 3.

5.5 is good enough for now.

VTT integration is really important for me, so I definitely get that.

There's a lot I like about the A5E Foundry module, but what it includes and doesn't include seems very random. Fairly old Gate Pass Gazette content isn't in it yet, but more recent Voidrunners content is. Not to mention a bunch of broken 3rd Party spells.
