It couldn't hurt D&D to shade into urban fantasy, it's been popular for quite a while now... well, OK, y'never know what might hurt D&D, but it'd seem like there's a potential up-side.

Agreed, and many of the spells in the Magician's are straight out of D&D. I know the books made that connection explicitly, can't remember if the show did, though they do name check Bigby and a few others as spell creators...

They lampshaded "Magic Missile" in one episode I recall, though, it behaved nothing like the traditional spell (must've been 2008 or 2009

, when you could miss ).
They've made it clear the characters are aware of D&D, too. Heck, Quintin's probably played it.

I voted for Willow.
Then Hawk the Slayer.
Last was other because I didn’t see Krull.

They aren’t the best but IMO the most D&D without being the inspiration for D&D.

Though I love Krull and Willow. I have others I like better. Like Predator.

The 13th Warrior. It’s a game where the DM came to the group and said
‘Ok group! We’re doing a “magnificent 7” type thing but in Scandinavia. So it’s a Viking vibe, low magic...blah blah blah’. And then when everyone shows up with characters all the players have made fighters or ranger or battle masters or rogues(because it’s thematic). Except for one guy who makes a bard from Baghdad.
