Beyond the Rerisen Tower(DM Iron Sky, Judge: renau1g)

As the party walks along the path, Kaz points out various footfalls and other natural hazards using his keen eyesight. Sadly he is unable to find a more direct route through the forest.

Roll

Remember you get +1 to perception because of Kaz's racial ability.

GM: Results so far:
Scarm: 3 pts
Fredrock: 1 pt
Eithal: 3 pts
Yishim: -1 pts
Kaz: 1 pt

Total: 7 pts(Minor Success) and 2 rolls left to go.

Toeto kneels down to her basilisk and whispers to him. The spirit sniffs at the air and then hisses quietly to her in return. She rises and points into a particularly colder section of fog.

"Ah.. that, is the way I think."

ooc: I'll call it perception. Using the basilisk like a magical scent hound.
And I forgot Kaz's +1, so that's actually a 28. Not that it matters too much.

GM: Just pacdidj to take Salgyn's turn and we're good to go. I'll update tomorrow (or possibly late tonight if pac goes by then).

Lighting a torch to illuminate the party's way, Salgyn begins to sing in a rumbling, low-pitched style as he leads his horse, creating a pulsating rhythm not-unlike wind whipping by in a storm. As he does so he looks up past the forest canopy, making sweeping motions with his arms, and seeming to address the winds themselves, exhorting them to dispel the icy mists and bolster the party's endurance.

Diplomacy with words of friendship bonus. (1d20+15=35)

OOC: What I'd like to do here is use the Endure Elements ritual to hopefully garner us a few extra points. I've subtracted the cost from Salgyn's ritual ingredients. I'm also using Salgyn's words of friendship encounter, to make the above Diplomacy check (which is a crit anyway) to persuade the capricious spirits of the wind to come to the party's aid.

The group presses on, resisting the mist and pushing on, using occasional moon-lit glances at the mountains through breaks in the dense forest canopy as a guide.

The ground is beginning to get slightly steeper and rockier and the sensation that you are being watched, followed, stalked is growing stronger...

GM: Salgyn's Ritual Effect: Whenever the skill challenge causes you to lose a healing surge, you may instead choose to take a cumulative -1 on future skill checks. It also grants 1 success automatically each round.

GM: Round results:
Scarm(Stealth): 3 pts
Fredrock(Endurance): 1 pt
Eithal(Athletics): 3 pts
Yishim(Arcana): -1 pts
Kaz(Perception): 1 pt
Toeto(Perception): 3 pts
Salgyn(Diplomacy): 4 pts + 1(Ritual)

Total: 15 pts(Success, just barely).

Skill challenge continues to round 2. Remember, repeating the same skill in the next round imposes a cumulative -2 penalty on the check.

Yishim feels the arcane power from Salgyn's ritual push the cold and wet away. As he notices others flagging in their ability to continue, he finds just the right words to bolster their resolve.

OOC: Insight (1d20+7=26). That makes up for last round. Traveling next two days. If I don't get to post and am last up, feel free to NPC me.

Fredrock continues on, pressing thru this dreary mist. Only thoughts of Livia and Cale keep him going, hoping beyond hope to get to them in time.

OOC: Endruance, +14 (no shield equipped) -2 (2nd use in row)

Kaz attempts to blend into the shadows and use his fleet of foot to silently find a path for the party. He is tired from the journey, and is not as attentive as he could have been however and alerts a large flock of birds to his presence, blowing his cover.

OOC: Stealth = 13

Remember everyone gets +1 to perception because Kaz is an elf.

Eithal examines the ground carefully, checking for recent passage of any creatures. She wishes she knew how to counter the chilling affects of the mist. For now the only thing she can do is hold her nose to ward off the smell.
OOC: Nature: 1d20+9=22
