OOC: Kaz spends a surge to gain 22 hp.

Sprout pounces on Livia as she lies prone. When his bite connects, a spray of clear blue water erupts from the wound and showers onto Kaz. The liquid evaporates almost immediately upon hitting him, but it as refreshing a dip as he could ever have. He finds his injuries healed once again.

Toeto, who has moved beside a pillar near Yishim, now waves her totem at Sprout to dismiss him. The basilisk groans in annoyance - his undead enemy is almost finished off! Regardless, he quickly fades from view as he departs the physical world.

I know attacking Livia while the statue is still up is kind of futile, but the healing part of this attack only works if it hits. The statue has a high fort, versus Livia who (I assume) has a low fort and is prone to boot.

By the way, does the rerising happen instantly when the statue's guardian "dies," or does it happen on the statue's "turn"? Can the guardian rerise multiple times per round?[/sblock]

GM: Their Rerise is a free action and can happen as many times as they die.

The Avatar sprinkles residuum across the altar and with a gesture, the altar is shrouded in shadows. With a laugh, the Avatar explodes into ravens again, re-appearing on the platform in the center, blasting out at Fredrock, denting his shield but not even slowing the dwarf down.

Cale, meanwhile, swings at Eithal, but the warden keeps him at bay.

Scarmiglione once again depends on the vigilance of Eithal to keep him safe as he blasts the statue, and Eithal once again rewards his trust by cutting the ever-reforming Cale in two as he tries to shoot at the kenku. Observing that the statue seems much weaker now, Scarmiglione moves back around it and jumps down from the platform, heading for the opposite side of the temple and the other statue.

Scarm blows the statue apart, and the whole labyrinth shakes. The dark spirit trapped in the statue whirls out from the statue and swirls into the Avatar. She gasps as the power surges into her, obviously struggling with the pain.

Cale slumps to his knees, but then looks up and his eyes are clear. He coughs, blood frothing to his lips. "That was unpleasant... ever had a dead god use you as a puppet?"

GM: Eithal's Warden's Fury vs Cale: 1d20+13=16 Fort, miss.

Cale's Paint the Bullseye: 18 AC vs Scarm, miss.

The Avatar is stunned until the end of her next turn.

Cale is on your side now and can now take actions, with the usual spend a minor action to command him. I'll update the main post with his stats.

How can he say it so casually! wonders Toeto. Some horrible abominations are about to be resurrected, and perhaps we should stop it.

"I'll try..." she calls back to the dwarf. Toeto walks toward one of the tombs keeping only a short distance away from Livia. At about the halfway point, she turns and calls Sprout back into the world to attack the statue. The basilisk appears and shines briefly with a golden light, basking Kaz in the glow. Sprout claws at the statue with only minor effect.

As the shaman nears the undead's tomb, she suddenly realizes that she hasn't the faintest idea how to stop some necromantic ritual.

OOC: Kaz gets 3 THP if 19 will hits the statue, or 1 THP if it doesn't.

Seeing that nothing will bring down his friend, Kaz moves closer to the statue. He slams the axe against the statue with tremendous force, knocking a large chunk off. Divine energy flows into Kaz from the blow, making him stronger and move agile.

Yishim quickly realizes what the Avatar is doing. The Avatar is trying to bring the hungerer kings back to life. We can't let it happen.

He runs to the nearest tomb, and begins crafting a counterspell. He's able to find some weaknesses in the ritual, but not quite enough to fully counter the spell.
