Did anyone else check out this show on Space (like Canadian Syfy) last night? It stars Laura Vandervoort, aka Supergirl, as the main character.

My wife and I watched it - it is theoretically based off the Kelley Armstrong book of the same name, which she liked a great deal.

Surprisingly, they are apparently sticking to the basic plot of the book, at least for now.

They've inserted a bunch of gratuitous sex scenes that don't appear in the book, but presumably they feel they need them to hook the True Blood crowd.

That is interesting to know. I think I watched the first episode without remembering it was based off of a book too. Do you know how well the setting matches up with what is in the books? Does Elena really go to Toronto, and is the "family home" really west of Syracuse?

Yes, the locations are accurate. It seems to be setting things up well and hopefully will continue to follow the first book as that had a good plot.
