Black Company RPG and Spoilers

I assume the Black Company RPG from Green Ronin has spoilers for the series? I'm only just finishing the first book, and if it has a lot of spoilers I should probably finish the series before I pick it up. Or does it not?

The BCCS includes a summary of the events of every novel in the series, write-ups of most of the major characters, and most of the pre-history that was detailed. It contains major spoilers for all the novels.

Read the history section and novel summaries only up until the book you have finished reading. Do not read any of the character writeups. The mechanics sections do not have spoilers in them that I have noticed.
