BoED - Vow of Poverty

Has anyone used the Vov of Poverty from the Book of Exhalted Deeds?

The AC bonuses look nice- in comparison to wearing armor. But the bonus feats don't thrill me all that much.

Anybody have any thougths or even better game experience.?

No game experience, but I think it'd be fun to play a traveling cleric with the Vow of Poverty feat. Or maybe even a Bard.

very, very wrong....

No game experience. Just seen two people in my group look at just how it can be most efficiently abused.

One of them was (for a 20th level game) take the feat at 18th level, having spent the cash for the previous 18 levels on tomes to boost abilities.

Sure, you lose out on all the Exalted feats, but their opinion was that most of the feats weren't good anyway, so no real loss).

.......it's just a wrong idea.....

One of the NPC dragons in my next game will have the Vow of Poverty feat path.

Yes, he's a little nuts by dragon standards.

Got to see this in action Friday. A 14th-level monk. Quite frankly, he was on about the same power level as the rest of the party. <shrugs>

More than likely, especially with one that took monk levels and took a OA Pr-class for a monk.

Eh, the monk is too easy a choice for Vow of Poverty. So, I'm thinking along the lines of a CG Fighter/Barbarian who embraces the Forsaker Class as much as the Vow of Poverty.
