Book of Erotic Fantasy hitting stores...

Does everyone that has playtested anything ALWAYS place that as a qualifier in every post about said products they make? Heck, I bet a lot of people here were playtesters for a lot of different books. Should I immediatly not trust anyone's opinion on any book because they might possibly have playtested it and failed to say they playtested it?

Calm down, people. It's just a game.

I'd be nice if I got the BoEF for Christmas, but I'm not so interested in it that I'm actually going to buy it myself. I didn't like the promo art-photos that were released, but I did like the PrC I saw (Sacred Prostitute?). From what I hear the content is surprisingly well written and treats the subject matter in a mature fashion. What do I know, though, since I haven't actually seen it?

PS: Not a playtester of BoEF or any other product. :D

Crap. I thought you said you did in another thread about the CN alignment. Maybe that was (Psi)Severedhead (sp?).

Oh, I did mention that the early playtest version of CN was cracked. That didn't mean that knowledge came to me through the proper channels...

Yeah it's hit the EN World shop. So is your local bookstore carrying it?

Don't know, haven't been in to FandomII (in Ottawa) for a couplov weeks.

I did give them a copy of the gorgeous colour preview Anthony gave me at GenCon, so I'm hoping they at least ordered a copy or two. If not, I'll harass 'em and get 'em to order one.

I'm really looking forward to this one: I already have a paladin who worships a god from the book (he's all about keeping your word, particularly when it comes to marriage).

Haven't seen it around here yet. Most likely won't be picking it up when I do, though - it occurred to me one day that I have a girlfriend and pr0n for the lean times, I play rpgs to get away from the rigors of daily life. ;)

My theory, and not being inside WotC and having the straight scoop, this is just a theory: AV was mad about the changes coming down the pipe that would make WotC and their licensees more family friendly. He fought them, to no avail.

To "stick it to the man", he put "stealth nipples" on the cover of the Fiend Folio, and commisioned artwork of a creature that looked like male genitalia. (See: century worm.)

I can't say categorically that this didn't happen (since I was gone from WotC by this point) but I'd consider it unlikely. Business managers don't commission art, art directors do. To enact this plan, Anthony would have had to literally conspire with people from several different departments (many of which don't so much get along at the best of times).
