Book of Vile Darkness question.

Joker

First Post
I don't know if there are any threads on this but I was wondering about a certain prestige class. It's about the Disciple of something, the one with the iron abilities. I understand that the creators of BoVD meant for the book to be used only for the NPC's of the heroes. I was just wondering if anyone else found this Prc too powerful. Of course, I haven't playtested it or anything but it looks really powerful.

Just to give you a run-down of the abilities for those who dont have the book:

-d10 hd
-4 skills pts./ level
-fighter Bab
-all saves are good
-several abilities including, rusting grasp, ironbody, ironskin (stoneskin except for the name change.)

The prereqs r three feats and bab +6

I personally think it's powerful compared to other fighter type prc's, but I think it's right up there, powerlevel wise, when you compare it to some of the spellcasting classes at higher levels.

Thx in advance for some (hopefully) constructive and wise comments :).

Tata.

Disciple of Dispater

Yeah, it's powerful fighting class. And it better be, since you have sold your soul to archdemon. :) Basically you have much to gain over standard fighter. Only thing you lose is five fighter feats and gain better saves and magical abilities.

Evil is Good

OK the BoVD was designed to create the most vilest villians to the PC's to fight. But from past XP PC parties most of the time are anywhere from PL 6-whatever because an XPed NPC must meet all the requirments pf the presteige class to get it so the PC's need to be that XPed as well. so you'll just have to fit the PC's with the NPC's by CR.:D

Yikes! (Looks frantically over his shoulder)...

Whew. I guess I didn't annoy them TOO much. :D
