So, two handed weapons gain a x 1.5 str bonus(when used in two hands) could the same apply for a compsite longbow? Just like a greatsword gains 1.5 str could a archer gain 1.5 str to raise his str enough to use a higher str composite bow?

Remember that in general you apply Strength BONUS to damage only to melee weapons or thrown weapons, but not projectile weapons. Composite bows and slings are a special case of projectile weapon which lets you do the same; in their case, you always apply your full Strength bonus (but not past the maximum of the bow).

No. You have to use two hands to effectively use the bow as a ranged weapon...one to hold it and one to draw the string. You gain your full normal strength bonus up to the strength bonus of the bow. A PC w/ a 14 Str can use a +2 mighty bow w/o problem, but he'll take a -2 to hit for using a +3 mighty bow - even though he's using both hands to wield it.

I agree with no 1.5 str bonus (unless you can con your DM into it), but just for fun...

What if they have 3 or more arms? :D

If they have 3 or more arms they can wield a bow for ranged attacks, and threaten the 5' space around them with a longsword.
