So very close to an xp penalty..... Grats on your graduation btw! what did you graduate for?

Anyhow. we got the sleeping in the trees part covered. I assume that there will be no fire than? Seems rather pointless when you sleep in a tree. Will the watchmen(/woman) also reside in the trees?

I suppose it's best that way. If we're avoiding staying on the ground, might as well keep our "high ground" advantage when we're awake, as well.

The party spends the night up in the trees. The watchmen hear some noises of (probably) animals scurring around the forest floor near the campsite. Otherwise the night passes uneventful and you all wake up safely in the morning.

The group breaks up camp (do you leave your 'nests' in place or yuo you restore the trees to thier origional state?) and starts travelign further into the forest. Quarion guides you through the wilderniss and seems to be sure of his path. After about half a day of traveling you find something remarkable: in a small clearing (about 10 feet wide) a stone pillar stands erected from the forest floor. It is round, about 1 feet in diameter and stands about 5 feet tall. It looks heavliy eroded but you can still make out some markings in the stone which seem carved (not natural). It is hard to make out what they depict.

"This is no doubt a clue to the location of our secret hidden shrine. Let me see..."

(OOC: Knowledge rolls here Notable rolls are a nice 20 on Planes, an impressive 25 on Religion, and a respectable 14 on the generic Lore class feature (the Bardic Knowledgesque one). Terrible rolls for everything else though, just terrible :( Natural 1s on both of her other strongest knowledges (Nature and Arcana))

(OOC: None of us is trained and it is trained only, so no dice on Decipher Script. Come on, with a 25, no religious significance of the pillar or something? 25 is "Obscure, known by few, hard to come by" or "Really tough questions". Of course, if it's not religious, then it's true that doesn't matter)

ooc: I somehow touhght one of you had either dec. script or comprehend languages. I'll grant you the 25 rolls instead then.. With a 25 on arcana you'd be right on the spot though ;)
Aletheia stares at the vague markings intensively for a while. She thinks she can make out the lines of some kind of warding symbol, either used to protect against something or to hedge something out, although she is unsure which one.

(OOC: Comp Languages doesn't help with smudged things that are missing portions or codes--those are two of the only reasons to keep around the Dec Script skill ;) Ongoing effect, eh? Spellcraft away! Wow, IC hates me today--Natural 1 again to match the Natural 1 on Kn: Arcana :( Maybe it will be level -15 or lower! (DC to identifying ongoing magical effect is 20 + spell level of effect) I'd use Detect Magic, but the aura is obviously going to be Abjuration  )

"There seems to be a magical warding in effect, though whether to keep something out or in, I can't say. My better judgment tells me that this is wrong, but I have this weird hunch that the warding is an Antiplant Shell to keep out shambling vegetables. Let's just ignore that thought, though"

(OOC: Hope you don't mind the flavour on that Natural 1--Antiplant Shell indeed  )

"A warding you say? Maybe I'm familiar with it"

"Have a look at this."

"I'm on it"

Both Odno and the psicrystal examine the markings, but loks like it's not among the most common glyps.

ooc: Highest check is an unimpressive 16
