Break of Dawn [Manzanita judging] COMPLETED

Quarion taps his chin thoughtfully. "Hm. It is worth the attempt. And also, we should examine the creatures closely, regardless, to see if they have any signs of demonic taint. It may give us some insight into the nature of this site.". Quarion circles the temple, looking for a fallen raven. He will put on his gloves to pick it up (something he rarely does) to avoid touching the potentially demonic flesh and bring it back to the altar for examination and experiment.

"If it's demonic like the rats, we should make sure not to use it at the altar, as it may taint the druidic energies or whatnot. However, the ravens seemed easier to slay than the rats--to wit, my crossbow hurt them, and my weapons were useless against the rats. That might mean that they were not demonic."

"I confess I'm finding the place confusing, with demonic and not demonic animals attacking us at each step. This time I'll refrain from giving advice other than to have our eyes wide open for danger, since every direction seems equally misguided." says Odno.

Quarion collects one of the dead ravens and studies it. Already at frst glance he notices several features that indicate that this animal is not pure. It is clearly fiendish in nature.

Mordik stops pushing with a grunt. He looks at Quarion and shrugs. I tried. he adds helplessly. I dunno what to do here. He sits on the top step somewhat dejectedly. He keeps an eye on the block, a thoughtful look on his face.

Eanos, human monk

Eanos shrugs.

"Perhaps it isn't necessary to kill an animal? Might we be able to simply get blood on the knife to activate whatever it is we feel is the intended effect?"

[sblock=OOC]I'm out of town until next Tuesday. I have sporadic internet access, so feel free to NPC me as needed.[/sblock]

"The bones on the altar siggest otherwise" says Odno. "At this point, I imagine our next step would be to look for our dinner and kill it on the altar using the knife and the appropiate ritual. Possibly combining Quarion's, Aletheia's and my own knowledge of the religious we may be able to do it properly."

For Clarity's sake: Quarion's survival is high enough to automaticly succeed with (or even without) a take 10. So if you want you can have any kind of small forest dwelling animal at hand if you cross the bridge again and search for it in the woods.
