With a look at Eanos and then the imp, I'll pay part a'the gold. A quick unspoken thought as Mordik grips the blade in his hands: I'd rather pay the cursed thing in silver.

Eanos, one eye on the imp the whole time, gathers some gold from Mordik to add to his own, making a small pile for their antagonistic doorman.

Mordik gives 25 gold pieces with his offhand to Eanos, gripping his silvered blade tightly in the other.

OOC: As above, I had Eanos making a pile of the gold for the imp. I didn't give his official contribution to the total, partly because of my previously-stated confusion as to whether I missed our advance money, and partly to see if anyone else wanted to contribute. But neither of those should hold up the story, since we have plenty of gold to pay his 50 now.

(OOC: Whoah whoah whoah. That wasn't just an OOC. Aletheia will vehemently object to giving all the gold at once. Not the least of which because she wants Mordik to kill it when it gets the other half of the gold. If somehow the others refuse to listen to her, she will shoot the imp with the crossbow before it can come down to get the gold. There's an off-chance to penetrate the DR. Yes, if it's a choice, she would rather the imp be dead and the passage still shut. She really really hates Devils!)

"We don't trust an Evil outsider to keep his word, but we will give you half the gold here. Count it out. Mordik has the other half right there for you when you open the door. We don't want any of that 'I said you had to pay me 50 gold, but I didn't say only 50 gold' nonsense for which you devils are famous."

(OOC: When he opens the door, we place down the other half. Hopefully also Mordik kills him. If he balks, Ally hopes we'll at least successfully kill him. That's one less evil outsider on the Prime Material)
