Buffy 11 Feb 03

I remember Xander confessing to it, but for some reason I had the impression that maybe he was covering for Dawn. She'd been in so much trouble lately, and Xander's always been sympathetic to her, and I thought that maybe he was trying to keep her from getting in even more trouble.

But I don't remember why, exactly, I thought that; maybe I was smoking crack.

Xander's confession was the only reason Sweet didn't take Dawn with him, so I'm inclined to believe it.

And to John Chricton - I know I speak for everyone here (And If I don't speak for you, don't bother telling me as I like beleiving in my own omniscience.. hehe) when I say "PLEASE GOD LET THAT BE TRUE!"
Heheh, yeah. :)

There will be a serious lack of (we'll just call it) geek-TV if both go. Angel needs to continue as is, IMO. It's on a roll and the cast is coming together even more.

If SMG doesn't come back, the show should take a different direction but try to keep most of the main characters. I don't know what Joss has planned but I kinda like the Sunnydale idea. Keep Xander, Willow, Giles and Dawn around and get a few new players in there. If the last 2 seasons are any indication, Giles won't be in every episode so that leaves some room as well. I like Spike, but I don't know how well he would work without Buffy there.

The one thing I don't like is Buffy having to die again. There has to be a workable way around it yet not have her be on the show. And if another slayer is going to be around and it's not going to be Faith (altho I would love that) then she has to die and another Slayer will have to be activated to join the bunch. It would be interesting to not have a slayer there permanently, but we've seen what happens when the Hellmouth goes unchecked so there needs to be some muscle there to take care of it. Anywho, there is still plenty there even if Buffy is not going to be there anymore....

Well, if they are able to "reintegrate" the slayer line, it might be simple as buffy becoming a "normal" girl.

Unfortunately, my information on the current season (and the end of the last season) purely rely on spoilers (in Germany, the season before this is currently shown),so I can not really contribute much, but consider what did Buffy experience for now:

She died, her lover became a monstrous killer, she got a sister through magical means, she lost her mother, she died.

Maybe she will become pregnant (does she love spike now, or does she not? I can`t figure it out of the spoilers I read here...), and can`t continue going around slaying vampires.
So she goes away in a more safe region, hoping that the other ones will hold the line until she can come back...
(Which gives enough oppertunities for cameo appearences)...

Well, but finally, I think it is not really possible to make a "fitting end" to Buffy - there will always be evil creatures lurking in the shadows... (Or will she finally wake up in a hospital, beeing healed from her insanity? :) )

Or, how about a new Buffy Movie?

It will be interesting to see how she is fazed out to make room for a new star. If you check the other thread, there is now the current rumor about who will be taking over for SMG. And there would be room for cameos so it's safe to assume that any of the non-death points you mentioned could happen. I guess a pilgramige of some type may work as well. There are a bunch of things they could do, especially if there is another slayer in Sunnydale on a permanent basis.

As for a movie, I can't remember what Joss said about another Buffy movie but I know he wants the TV series to go on for quite some time. Says he's still got plenty of ideas he hasn't tried yet.

And yes, it hardly seems like any reason for Buffy to leave Sunnydale would seem to fit properly. It would work best to have a smooth transition. Like have her around for the first few eps of whatever season she is leaving and have the new slayer take over. But then again, Joss has more entertaining ideas in his head than I do. :D

I check the other thread, but I am unsure about how realistic the rumors and theories are...

Well, if nobody on the responsible stations and networks objects, we will see what Whedon has for ideas - with or without SMG..

By the way, does anybody know if Whedon played Role Playing Games - some things reminds me of me Mastering RPGs - so many ideas, so little time... (But the big difference is: I don`t have so much talent :) )

Angel to Spike "To kill this girl you've gotta love her"
Foreshadowing anyone? If this IS the last season, they may be killing her off, and who better to do it than either Spike or Angel?

My question is can Buffy be killed again? At least in the normal way. And a cool plot twist to me would be if Buffy were in so much pain--mentally more than physically--that she wanted to die, and Spike was for some reason the only one to do it. thus the quote " to kill this girl you've gotta love her." Spike might be the only one who loves her enough to put her out of her misery.

*after thought*
is there a normal way to die?
nobody answer that. We play D&D. Nuff said.:D
