[Buffy] Spoilers - Tonight's episode

Angelsboi - What did Xander do to betray Buffy? I am a little sketchy when it comes to the first 2-3 seasons.
In the season 2 finale, when Buffy is going to stop Angelus from awakening Acathla, Willow decides that she should try to help out by casting the ritual to restore Angel's soul. Since Willow's in a hospital bed and Giles has been kidnapped, she sends Oz and Cordy to get the necessary stuff and Xander to intercept Buffy and tell her what Willow is up to. When Xander catches up with Buffy, he declines to tell her. This then leads to Angel getting his soul back way too late, when the only thing Buffy can do to close Acathla's hell-vortex and save the world is to stab Angel through the heart, which means that the vortex sucks Angel into hell just as it closes. It's one of the saddest moments in the whole series.

Yupp it went like this:

Xander: "Calvery is here. Calvery is a scared guy with a rock, but its here."
Buffy: "Xander!"
Xander: "Willow wanted me to tell you -"
Buffy: "Yes?"
Xander: "Kill him for her too."

And no one has ever found out.

and yes Steffan, to this day, when i here Full of Grace, i STILL cry

2) Im hoping it will be revealed this season about Xanders betrayl to Buffy in Season 2, Episode 23 "Becoming Part 2"
Great moment.

I'm not so sure that part counts as a betrayal. He hated/hates Angel, but her not knowing about the spell helped her kill Angel in the end. It was already too late by the time she had to kill him and having the soul back just made it harder at that point.

Had he told her the spell plan was back on, it would have been much harder for her to take him down. She had already been through too much at that point and since he cared for her so much he didn't tell her. Half of it was out of selfishness, but Xander is basically a good guy and knows what needs to be done.

On some level there was some betrayal but I don't think that's the only way to look at it.

Happy happy. My favorite show is back, and fun again. Good Story, both a little scary, little emotional and good chunk 'o funny, too. Last year really was really a ride, sometimes good, sometimes not so good. This year is, so far, much more consistently enjoyable, IMHO.

As the resident Buffy-Fanatic let me shed some light:

Dude, you are hardly alone in being a Buffy fanatic here. You may have more Buffy trivia locked in your skull, but that doesn't give you lone ownership of the title :)

1) It *IS* two souls vying for Space. Season 2, episode 8 "The Dark Age", we find out from Angel that he the demon inside of him has been waiting for a good fight when Eyghon takes over.

Well...
1)Note that I was talking aobut having two personalities vying for control. That is not necessarily the same as having two souls vying for control. There's some indication that in the Buffyverse, a soul is not equivalent to a personality.

2)While there may be two souls (or one soul and one demon) present, that doesn't mean they are "vying for control". From watching Angel and Spike, I'd have to say it looks more like the soul is clearly dominant, and that the demon doesn't have a say in it. What you mention above supports this idea - the demon is "waiting for a good fight". Implying that it really has no chance for a good fight otherwise....

Along with Spikes lines, they continue with....

"I'm insane, what's his excuse?"
That was great! :)

Personally, I liked all the paralyzation gags. Funny stuff! This season has been much better than the last one so far.

i was so glad Willow was back. It showed a lot between her trying to fight the good fight all by herself to prove she wasnt guilty and Buffy helping her at the end.

Yes, the trust between Buffy and Willow at the end spoke volumes; and to be honest, it mirrors in a very haunting fashion the sacrifice of Wesley's own blood for Angel's health during the season premiere of that show.
