By the Sword question

Does anyone have the Kenzer and Co. Kalamar book "By the Sword: The Art of Dueling" or whatever it's called? The reviews section of EN World appears to be still down, and I can't tell whether the book's been reviewed. I haven't purchased any Kalamar books before, but the text about this one seems interesting...sounds like it has rules for all sorts of dueling scenarios including jousting, as well as more fighter feats, and possibly fighting styles?

I've got a copy. It does a nice job of covering duels, sword duels mostly. I like it and can give you more info if you want later. I'll have to dig it out.

I have it. I didn't think much of it. From what I've gathered at the Kenzer boards and at Dragonsfoot, there is a lot of stuff that either needs errata or is unbalanced. Let me see...here is a thread about it on Dragonsfoot, but scroll down to the post by Topher, who is something of the HackMaster rules errata guru. That discussion is more geared towards the HackMaster part of the dual stats, so take it for what it is.

The "unbalanced" problems you may have heard of are certain HackMaster-specific tournament-sanctioned rules for governing the HackMaster Association. Doesn't apply on the d20 side. So far all the d20 feedback I've heard has been pretty positive, overall.
