Can AoO provoke AoO?

This is wrong to begin with... You can only run in a straight line. The best you could up a twisting flight of stairs would be a double move.

In the case of the threatening Peerless Archer, it would go like this:

That part. The part where it's implied one completes one's triggering movement after the AO is resolved.

And the above is from the post I was replying to, when you responded to me. :) Hence the potential confusion.

Fine, a 60' double move, just shorter flights of stairs -- 5' to the stairs, turn, 10' up a flight, 5' for the landing, 10' up another flight, 5' for the second landing, 10' up the third flight, 5' for the last landing, 10' up the last flight, double-move (base speed 30) ends there.

I do not agree with dmuncheon's analysis.
As I said before, one has to accept that the supplement-book feats are incorrectly phrased.

Since dmuncheon's thought was specific to making sense of the supplement-book feats, and you subsequently told me to "FORGET the supplement books", this seems like a non-sequitur.

The trip or grapple supercedes it. What's the problem?

If you really want to be pedantically accurate about it you can say "complete your movement if you are able to." That would cover trips, grapples, and being killed by the AoO (as well as Stand Still).

The point was that an AoO in and of itself, by virtue of being an AoO, does not gain any ability to stop movement. Only when other factors are added which already have the ability to stop movement does the AoO gain the ability to do so.
