Tonk smashes his mace down on the swarm of drakes again and again, squashing even the last one flat. With the danger out of the way, Blade circles around and hacks at their larger cousin. It twists its neck around to snap at him, giving Dextyr an opening to drag Tristan away with words of power. The elf skids across the ground, his wounds closing as he moves. When he is clear he pulls himself to his feet and charges off into the forest.

Bereft of its rider, the warhorse bolts, charging down the road back towards the city, trampling Dextyr and Mikara into the dirt under its hooves. Some perverse instinct, or perhaps the remains of its military training, makes it swerve across the road towards Blade as well, but a sudden burst of light burns it, causing it to rear up and neigh wildly. It turns tail and gallops away down the road.
The guard drake backs away from its attacks, hissing nastily at them. Suddenly, it leaps into the air, twisting around in a full circle, and races off into the woods. Apparently it is unwilling to let its prey get away that easily! Its jaws lock around Tristan's leg and it tears a large strip out of his calf.
There is a rustle in the trees, and a group of leaves near Tristan's head dissolves in a hiss of acis. Moments later a second glob of caustic spittle flies through the new opening, splattering over Tristan's head and shoulder. He keels over and blacks out again. The spitting drake hops forward through the trees and extends a claw to poke at his unconscious body...

Before Dextyr goes, Tristan has to roll a death save, which he passes:
Death save (1d20=15).
Tristan, you can't make it to O11 - that would be 8 squares. You can only make it as far as P10. Also, you take an OA from the guard drake as you move away:
Bite at Tristan (1d20+6=14, 1d10+3=5) miss.
The warhorse uses Trample Attack, moving 2 squares to X10 (attack on Dextyr), 2 squares to V9 (attack on Mikara), 3 squares to S9 (attack on Blade), and 1 square to R8:
Trample attack at Dextyr, Mikara and Blade (vs Reflex) (1d20+4=19, 1d6+6=7, 1d20+4=22, 1d6+6=7, 1d20+4=14, 1d6+6=7) Hit Dextyr for 7, Mikara for 7, and misses Blade. (How about that, 1 for every damage roll!) Dextyr and Mikara are knocked prone. The horse takes 4 damage for attacking Blade. Then it runs 10 squares to H14.
The Guard Drake shifts to S11 and charges to Q11, attacking Tristan:
Bite at Tristan (1d20+6+1=19, 1d10+3=7) Hit for 7. (The Invisible Castle page says Tonk, because I changed my mind on its action after I rolled it.)
The Spitting Drake spits at Tristan:
Caustic Spit at Tristan (vs Reflex) (1d20+8-5=15, 1d10+4=6) Hit for 6 acid damage, even with the -5 for full cover (which I forgot when I first rolled that). Tristan goes down again. Then it moves to O9.
Your turns!
I'm going to drop the "so-and-so can't interfere because it doesn't match his real place in the initiative order" thing. Too confusing. So if Tristan were to be healed and then act before Dextyr, he could still get the +4 hp from hitting the Guard Drake. (EDIT: I forgot that's until end of encounter, so he would get the bonus anyway. Bad example.) Yes, this is open to abuse, but I can always micromanage the monsters the same way. (For instance, if I'd had the Spitting Drake close in first, the Guard Drake could have had his 1d10+9 damage again...)
Needlefang Drake Swarm (-3/38)
Light Warhorse (
