By a landslide, ST 2 would have to be best.
Followed by ST 4.

And watching ST 2 on TV is not the same as watching on the DVD that recently came out.

Okay, I know everyone will probably hate my list, but I'm not necessarily a Trek fan. This is my order of enjoyment:

Star Trek I - Motion Picture (most boring)
Star Trek III - Search for Spock
Star Trek IX - Insurrection
Star Trek VII - Generations
Star Trek X - Nemesis
Star Trek VIII - First Contact
Star Trek VI - Undiscovered Country
Star Trek IV - Voyage Home
Star Trek II - Wrath of Khan
Star Trek V - Final Frontier (fav)

Yes, I love Capt. Kirk meets God. It's just so cheesey. The subject header for the review of this film on the Jabootu website is "William Shatner's tender valentine to his character, Capt. Kirk", or words to that effect. Pretty much sums up the movie right there.

"Why does God need a starship?" :D

Then again, I enjoy the demented crappiness of Battlefield: Earth. he-he!

Just my personal enjoyment of each - from Best to Worst.

I have not seen 10 yet. Obviously, I didn't think much of the Next Gen films despite loving the TV show. The films were terrible with the exception of 8. Nemesis didn't look much better.

I'm surprised you rank Nemesis so high. I hated it, but that could be because
I felt that they ended the Next Gen line much, much too soon, and I wasn't pleased with the ending. I thought that the whole battling against a ship that can fire while cloaked schtick has already been done, and in a better movie (in my opinion). Not thrilled with Data biting it either.
It seemed senseless.
*added spoiler tags for Ranger's amusement* :D

Anyway, I'm not sure why, but Nemesis spoke to me on several levels.
I liked the philosophical bendings of it, Picard and his clone, and what would the same, genetically speaking, person be like raised in 2 separate environs. I did enjoy the battle scene at the end with the Enterprise and the Romulan birds of prey.

You'd probably be surprised that I rank First Contact near the bottom, god I hate that movie.

See, we have things called SPOILER TAGS for when you talk about events in movies people might want to see but haven't yet. You should consider using them the next time you post.

If you wait a year to see a movie you have no right complaining about spoilers you happen to stumble upon.

Why is that?! Just because someone didn't get a chance to either see it in the theater or hasn't gotten around to it yet doesn't mean that others can't be courteous and mindful and not give spoiler warnings. Especially if they are big one (not that this is the case).

Wow, a lot of people don't like Star Trek the Motion Picture.

I agree its not a very exciting Star Trek movie but thats because it isn't really a "Star Trek" movie. Its one of the greatest classic science fiction movies ever made, alongside 2001 and the Forbidden Planet. It just happens to be set in the Star Trek universe. If you think about the atmosphere the movie has, you'll realize it. The feel is totally different from all other Star Trek movies.

If you compare it other Trek films it comes up short. But if you compare it to 2001, I think you'll see it with new eyes.

Anyway, my personal favorite list would be (from most fave to least fave):

1) Undiscovered Country
2) Wrath of Kahn
3) First Contact
4) Nemesis
5) Voyage Home
6) Motion Picture
7) Generations
8) Search for Spock
9) Final Frontier
10) Insurrection

Particularly if you consciously enter a thread discussing that very thing. Sorry, but I'm not going to any extra effort to save someone the trouble of reading about a movie that's already this old, been spoiled to death all over the Internet and TV, and not that good anyway. Refer any complaints to the BIDC (Bureau of I Don't Care).
