For classic Trek from worst to best:
Generations
Except when they drop a bridge on Kirk. Go bridge!
V
Ha! Got you back Leonard! You killed my son, now I'm killing your brother!
III
Spock should have stayed dead.
IV
I do kind of wish that someone had walked up to Spock and said 'Mr. Nimoy, can I have your autograph?' considering that folks used to walk up to Leonard Nimoy and address him as Spock,,,
I
What can I say, I liked it. The scene with Enterprise in the drydock was gorgeous.
VI
Probably the cruelest thing a Klingon ever did to Kirk, dying and making him feel guilty about it.
II
Kahn!

I didn't see any of the Next Generation movies except Generations, which was drek.

And say what you will I think the spoiler tags are nifty, and I may just start using them to hide snide comments as well as spoilers! :p

New version of the The Motion Picture? I'm confused on what you mean.

Check the ST:TMP DVD. They basically "finished" the movie for the DVD. They added missing effects, restored, reordered (and cut?) some scenes. Originally the movie was over budget and over schedule, so the director was unable to complete the film the way he wanted.

I will have to do that then. Might move it up in my rankings.

My preference:

II. Come on, nothing can beat Khan.

III. I liked it.

IV. Not bad, but a little too silly and the save-the-whales theme is a little too preachy.

VI. I never really liked VI. A lot of people like it, and while it wasn't a bad Trek film, it's not really the sort of thing I prefer.

TMP. Boooring. Maybe the DVD version is better, I don't know.

V: Does this need an explaination?
People routinely bash this as the Worst Trek Ever, however, as you'll see below, I rank it above most of the TNG movies. It was cheesy and stupid as all hell: Sulu and Chekov getting lost, Kirk distracting the aliens by having a 50-year old Uhura dance naked (they must have been out in the desert for a VERY long time!), fighting "God".
However, this movie can be watched for a laugh, unlike the TNG movies, which aren't just bad but boring as well.
Overall:

II.

First Contact: A lot of people hate the Borg, and they blame this movie for ruining them, but it was still a pretty good movie. The ending
where the Vulcans land on Earth and make first contact with humans was one of the best Trek moments ever. They could have done that cheesy and stupid, look at what they did with the other TNG movies, but this was handled well.
All in all, one of the best Trek movies.

III.

IV.

VI.

TMP.

V.

Nemesis. This movie really disappointed me. I'm a Romulan fan,
but where the hell were the Romulans?! The whole story focused on the Reman-Shinzon plot. Still, I did enjoy seeing that establishing shot of Romulus at the beginning, and the Romulan Senate chambers. Still, it had a lot of flaws. As for Data dying, I'm not really bothered by that. I believe Spiner was one of the writers, so if he chose to have Data go out in an act of heroic sacrifice, then I'm fine with that.
Overall, this could have been a lot better, but it really didn't capture my interest.

Insurrection. Even TMP wasn't this boring.
The Federation tries to steal the secret of the Planet of Eternal Youth or some crap. I dunno.
This was the most boring and pointless of all Trek movies.

Generations. Clearly, the worst Trek of all time, the Trek the Should Not Have Been Made.
Let's kill off Kirk! And let's not make it heroic, let's have him fall over or something and die!
I'd rather watch Insurrection that this, the most horrible of all Trek movies.

One of the producers was interviewed lately and said
that they weren't going to use the Romulans in any movies in the near future because they were in the last one and no one cared. LOL. There were Romulan's in Nemesis? I guess the audience missed them in the 5 seconds they were on screen.

BTW, where were Andreas Katsulas' Romulan who appeared multiple times in TNG and Yar's Romulan daughter (I can't recall their names). Were they killed off in the series? If they weren't, why have they never been used? They, along with Lursa and B'Tor (Duras' sisters) were about the only reoccurring villains on the show (not counting Q). They were pretty good bad guys.

To the best of my knowledge Tomalok and Tasha's daughter's character were never killed off. I think it would be a great idea to use them in a ST movie.

So how did space actually rank them?

Well *blush* I went out gaming so i don't know the middle 2 but the ranking I do know are

I - worse
V
III
don't know (probably IV)
don't know (porbably VI)
II - best (cool! Trek fans still recognize the greatness that is Kahn!)

Sorry about that but I was playing my Wookie Jedi* in our Star Wars campaign and completely forgot about the Star Trek movie marathon. by the time I got home they were playing the last movie (Wrath of Kahn).

* I lose all control when I play my Wookie - he's the best character in the world ;)
