Me too. I had my 2e Al-Qadim book out the other day and it got me to wishing. The other thing I really want to DM or play is some Modern. I couldn't say why, really. I neither own the book, nor have I ever played. I just have a hunch that I could write some really good storylines for it.

Al-Qadim was the first setting, after Greyhawk, to catch my eye. This was in the leadup to 3E, and after years of layoff from D&D. I don't know why, but AQ just seems to me to be more pure fantasy than anything else. Comes from Saturday afternoons watching Sinbad, I suppose. (Not to mention Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherezade suite.)

I actually went so far as to organize for a friend's brother, who was living in the States at the time, to download the PDFs for me. This was at the stage that WotC wouldn't let you download any of their (paid) stuff if you lived in that cultural backwater known as Australia. (I'm not going to get started!)

There was another setting I came across called Bloodshadows - very noirish and fantastically evocative. I guess that, if I were ever to run that one, I'd want to use Modern for it. I don't know Modern, either, but that's the hankering I have to use it.

Al-Qadim, never played it ... only Mystara, Greyhawk, FR and Ravenloft.
