Vampire the Masquerade would absolutely have this level of mishmash.

Tzimisce at worst, Nosferatu at best, Bali if you are abusive = swamp thing.
Beyoncé = Toreador
Sir Galahad = Brujah
Oh, wow, never imagined pop-culture icons as Vampire characters! Suddenly Michael Jackson makes perfect sense as a Nosferatu...
Is the idea here to pitch a perfect vacuum cleaner? All I know is that mine really sucks.
Depends on what... ;)

Ok, I’ll bite. Mrs. Doubtfire with her +3 vacuum.

Almost a Noselessferatu.

But yeah, it’s a fun thought process. I went through it in the GURPS:VtM playtest.

And the writers of several fictional vampire IPs have done likewise, most notably in What We Do In The Shadows. The Vampire council is all celebrities. Not celebs playing vampires, but playing themselves AS vampires. As I recall, Tilda Swinton is the leader. Others on the council are Paul Reubens, Wesley Snipes, Danny Trejo, and others. Members named but not portrayed onscreen include Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Kiefer Sutherland and Rob Patterson…

(See the pattern?)

If you can't take criticism/negativity on what you make, I advise you never publish.

I won't take purposful hostility, which you have shown every single time you have added anything.

There have been many writers/designers here who have been part of the community for years before they ever published anything. There have been writers/designers here who published work without ever shilling it here as an American car salesman...

Rmmmhrm....and?

The only reason you're here is for your own product, that's very clear. And as for market/product research, you already made something, you're trying to 'sell' here. So what exactly are you looking to research? Just people who agree with you and what you possibly wrote? If the people trash everything here, maybe you're doing something wrong? Maybe this game isn't what they are looking for? Or maybe people are critical to the umpteenth person that thinks their pnp RPG is 'special' and the best thing since sliced bread, in an already over-flooded pnp RPG market. Maybe you're right, your 'thing' will be extremely popular, and we're wrong...

Yet without doing any investigation, without showing interest you have consistantly come at me time and time again , with vague accusations, and conflicting statements and requests. The people I am referring to are people like your self. Who demmand to see rules, yet are upset I am asking or offering them. You fling baseless accusations hoping that I will get discouraged.

And if 'a bunch of people who stubbornly hold on to decades of expectations' is not your target audience, who is, who would buy your product if not the pnp RPG community that's been around for a quarter century (where you only just showed up)?

My business plans are none of your concern.

And I think that the 'decades' of expectations is a cop-out, as many of us most certainly dabble in modern RPGs. Something like Kids on Bikes, The Spire/Heart, WildSea, or Lancer are awesome, but still difficult to get to the table for most groups. It's not for nothing that many of us that have been into pnp RPGs for decades have bookcases full of very cool, but often unplayed or not played often, products. Many people prefer the classics, it's not for nothing that D&D is still the largest pnp RPG property around after 50+ years. It also doesn't help that this site grew out of Eric Noah's blog about the D&D 3rd edition rumours decades ago, so many came here for D&D in the first place...

Cop-out? Interesting. Is that because you do not have a counter?

We already have new hyped 'generic' RPGs, like Daggerheart, Cosmere, Tales of the Valiant, Cypher, AGE, etc. And none of those I can get really excited about, with the exception of maybe Cypher, not because of the system, but because of the settings that are published for it. But many, many are. How much was hype and how much was sustainability we'll see in a decade or so...

Not getting excited seems to be a you thing.

And you can say, it does xyz better than abc... Without actually showing it. When people critique you on it, you wave it away.

And maybe, the reason I can wave something away, is because hold on, Imma get bold here, I might be right?

Heck, at this point I wouldn't even bother looking, and I looked at the simple RPG system someone posted, made by ChatGPT

Again this bully tactic to try and threaten me....I find it increasingly hard to believe that you a person of my own age.

... We have access to 50 years of published pnp RPG stuff, we have access to all the fanmade material, and today, whatever AI/LLM can cough up. We have a LOT of choice.

Yeah drive Thru Rpg has like 20,000 different partners....your point?

If/when you look at the 'Promotions/Press' sub-forum, you'll see many posts by publishers, often without any comment and if there are comments, they are mostly by the same publisher updating whatever they are trying to promote. There is occasional interaction if someone is genuinely interested or has questions or... Critique. And that's not just the really small publishers either...

That is good, it tells me that this may in fact not be a supportive group, or that usual mundane methods are not effective.

If you go looking in other places: you might want to avoid Reddit (as they can easily downvote you)... RPG.net? And if negativity/critisism is difficult to work with avoid the 1d4chan like boards talking about pnp RPGs... There are a few others that might fit your style...

This....just might be the first time you gave any advice of worth.

Now with that said, you have exhibited a clear desire for me to not be on this platform. You also seem to have taken your own issues and tried to use them as some sort of shield to defend your poor behaviour. I am here to learn, and to partake in lessons, and your hostility, nor anyone elses will be tolerated. You get 3 strikes with me, and this is your last.

As far as the rest of the site goes, I do not expect special treatment, and I quickly have gotten a sense that people do it differently here, and I will respect that to the best of my ability, but I will not tolerate unrequired hostility, especially from someone who is acting far beyond my age. Criticism can be communicated perfectly clear and without attack, and still be well recieved. If my take on your community rules is accurate, then this should be no issue.

Good day to you and best of luck.

I have an idea. Why don't you show us a character concept that you came up with, including the character sheet.
Because I have not decided if this is the community I wish to interact with on that level. At least not yet. As mentioned I am investigating the community.

Making a system where you can make any concept is easy. Making a system where you can make any concept and they are mechanicaly balanced is hard.

Without seeing the game and the mechanics whats the point of the exercise?
I am testing my ability outside of my home group to see if my system can still adapt as well is done in my own personal circles.

Plus there are those who might have fun with the challenge itself.
