I tried cheese cake when I was younger and didn't care much for it. I tried it again perhaps a different kind and liked it. Is it something that I like to eat a lot of? Not really. I'll take regular cake or pie more often.

I rather enjoy cheesecake. For Thanksgiving this year we made a homemade Pumpkin cheesecake. The cake cracked at the top, but still tasted excellent. After that, for office Christmas party we made Plain Cheesecake. We used a water-bath this time; no more cracks.

As humble worshippers of the Church of Alton Brown can attest, cheesecake is not, in fact, CAKE. It is pie. Custard pie. A crust with a filling that is set with eggs.

This, however, is merely a trifling detail. Cheesecake, in all its forms, is Full of Win.

A more stirring debate might be HOW one prefers one's cheesecake. I like my cheesecake DENSE. I can enjoy lighter and fluffier cheesecakes, and I like them either quite sweet and full of stuff (like pumpkin, or chocolate), or less sweet and topped with fruit, but to me a real proper cheesecake should be heavy as a brick. A good cheesecake can kill someone at twenty paces.

I'm quite a good baker, and make a very good cheesecake. Unfortunately, thus far I've only managed to create cakes that could kills someone at ten paces. Someday, I will find the ultimate recipe...

I have a recipe for a fudge truffle cheesecake which might qualify. It's been a long time since I've made it, but I recall it as being approximately as dense as a neutron star. Much more chocolatey, though. And yes, as far as cheesecake is concerned, the denser the better for me.

no. In fact chocolate cake is the only cake, all other forms of cake are mere imitations. With the addendum that cheesecake isn't in fact even a pale imitation and is instead some kind of bizzare cream-cheese hybrid thing that needs to relinquish all claims to the word cake, as it's giving other cakes a bad name.
qft!
