Cleric Feats

Divine Metamagic works...but you must have a metamagic feat first! Divine Metamagic is allowed in our games, and it hasn't been a big deal.

Also: why, by the heavens, are you taking "Cleave"? Weird. Power Attack will be only marginally useful too, even for a melee Clr.

EDIT: Oh, and Skill Focus instead of Combat Casting as has been said.
Unless you want to go into Warpriest, which may or may not fit thematically.

Because Cleave is good? Especially at the lower levels.

Power Attack is totally awesome.

If my sorceress wouldn't have such a pathetic strength I would even learn it with her. :D

Skill Focus (concentration) is a popular substitute for Combat Casting. That provides a constant +3 bonus to all concentration checks whereas Cbt Casting provides a +4 bonus, but only to Concentration checks for casting on the defensive.
As noted in this thread, that should be while casting on the defensive. It's an important distinction because it means that if you can auto-succeed on casting on the defensive, you should always do it if you have combat casting because then you'll always get +4 on all Con. checks. This is better than +3. If you disagree, feel free to rebut me in the other thread.

But only for PCs that can pump out high damage hits, and only if there are other low-level mooks around that can be K.O.ed with one hit.

IMO, Cleave is good for 2-hd weapon weilding barbarians....and not much else.....especially if your PC has other areas of expertise (like a cleric).

Also: Is (was, now...24 hours is over) this PC starting at 1st? If so, there's hardly a "24 hour rush" to get all of his feats planned out through 20th level. Unless the OP goes up several levels every hour? ;)

For a list of PCs only maginally longer than that for Cleave. ;)

What would your Sor use it for? A two-handed magic missile?

Are combat feats just a hands down bad choice for Clerics?

Also, are there any non-combat general feats that a cleric should look into?

I dont know why people get so worried about feats for a Cleric character. Your already playing the games most powerful class just in its own inherent abilities. Everything else is just icing on the silly-powerful cake.

And I really do hope they do something about Divine Metamagic and Domain Spontaneity...

Well, the right icing makes a better tasting cake. ;)

(I'd like to know its recipe.) :D

You'll have to excuse me...I have issues with the balance of the Cleric class, and taking the mechanically best feats for a Cleric makes it worse. You can easily equal or exceed most of your party members in their own areas of expertise.

Hey, that was serious! ;)

She has a cool hot +2 flaming heavy mace. :D

...and right now wades into combat with AC 40, close to 200 hp, +28/+23 attack (can be touch attacks, of needed) and 2d6+6d4+23 bludgeoning damage +1d6 fire damage. She really needs boots of speed, tho.

*whistles innocently*
