clerics, somatic components and spell faliure due to armor

Quick question but an important one. Cleris can cast any divine spell without fear of spell faliure due to armor. But some of a cleric's domain spells are actually arcane spells. And some of those might have somatic components. So if a cleric casts such a domain spell, do they suffer arcane faliure penalties due to armor? Or is the spell refocused as a divine spell somehow, foregoing the arcane restrictions? Thanks.

No worries. Clerics cast their domain spells as divine spells so there is no arcane failure rate for casting in armor.

These spells are just as divine as any regular cleric spell that also appears on the Sorcerer spell list (such as Bull's Strength). Think of the domain spell lists as mini-spell lists and you'll keep the distinction clear.

Just to clarify, no spell is arcane or divine until someone casts it. The definition of arcane spell is a spell cast by an arcane caster, and a divine spell would be any spell cast by a divine caster.

...or puts it on a scroll. A scroll is either arcane or divine when created. So if the party wizard scribes a scroll of Bull's Strength, that scroll is not usable by a cleric.

Note that this applies only to spell-completion items. Spell-trigger items, like wands, can be used by anyone who has the spell on his class list. If a cleric creates a wand of Cure Light Wounds, that wand is usable by a bard, even though the bard casts CLW as an arcane spell.
