I was thinking of odd combinations, particularly when applied to lower end spells.
Sculpt Spell at low levels would have the same effect on Burning Hands as it has on Fireball. Same damage (at 5th level), same area, the whole thing. Kinda wild. Only the Save would vary.
That brought me to my next odd thought. Fires Within (Complete Divine, I think) lets you hold a fire spell in reserve, and as long as you don't use it you can throw mini-fireballs as often as you like. 30 foot range, 5 foot burst, damage of 1D6 per level of spell reserved, one per round as a standard action, all day long.
So what if a caster had both feats? Could they Sculpt Spell on the mini-fireballs, turning them from 5 foot bursts to a 120 foot line for example?
Obviously, you'd need to do something to account for the 1 level spell bump needed for Sculpt Spell. In essence, it would drop the damage by a dice, but that's not a deal breaker.
I'm not looking for ultimate magical power here, just an effect to make the players sit and scratch their heads trying to figure out how that works.
