I asked them about the tone of the show, and Sue Perkins was awesome enough to reply.

Sue also tweeted here about the event:

Comic Relief itself also answered:

As did Sara Pascoe:

I made it through about 45 minutes. It was funny enough, but mostly served to confirm my pre-existing opinion: D&D just isn't a spectator sport.

@delericho Oh I dunno...my wife and I are watching it, and we're laughing our heads off. Not sure if this counts as a "spectator sport," but I'm having a great time watching these folks have fun (and raise money for charity).

So... in the future, you might want to make very prominent what time zone you're talking about. Because this turns out to be BST, and I, in the middle of the afternoon on the East Cost of the USA, come to double check on the event time... I note that it has been running for nearly two hours already....

Sigh.

You assumed the time was whatever time zone you are in?

I didn't remember the time at all, which is why I came to check. If the time zone had been prominent, I likely would have at least remembered that, and checked earlier.

Sorry. British person on a British website posting about British comedians doing a live show for a British charity. That somebody might assume it was in American time isn’t something that even occurred to me! My apologies! :)
