I have to say, the hair you seem to be splitting is so fine I can't see it either.

There's no real difference between coming up with creative Commands and coming up with creative uses for other spells or effects
it’s not that hard, one is a creative use of a well defined spell (eg goodberry in the baking contest), the other is a creative use of a very vaguely defined spell (command)

Figuring out whether that creative application is within the rules and intent of the spell is easier in the first case than in the second. No one would eg argue that you can poison the town well by throwing some goodberries in it, command is much more open ended

that is fine, but even so I’d argue against the ‘this never happens in the OT’ point, just maybe not on this forum ;)
So would I. That's what I was trying to say. The OT is not particularly reflective of modern Christianity to my understanding.
