Commander's Strike

I was wondering about Commander's Strike and how it worked etc.

Firstly can you use Commander's Strike with Heavy Blade Opportunity? ... and if you do, then would your ally still get their own opportunity attack for the moving monster.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but RAW if you're holding a +2 weapon with it it adds the two damage to the attack on top of the allies basic attack and the Int damage. (Does not really matter as no DM would ever let a PC get away with this)... Just curious...

I don't see why not. And since the attack you grant your ally isn't an opportunity attack, the ally would still get an opportunity action during that turn.

That's my reading of it as well. If it wasn't your power, using your weapon, I'd expect it to have "Effect: an ally of your choice makes a basic melee attack against the target, with a bonus to damage equal to your intelligence modifier" or some other wording of that type, rather than attack and hit categories.

I'd even say it may be RAI as long as it doesn't make Commander's Strike used with level-appropriate weapons better than level-appropriate encounter powers. Hammer and Anvil is generally going to be much better than Commander's Strike regardless of your weapon's enhancement bonus, for example.

Heavy Blade Opportunity is the exception here, so it rules. Go ahead and take a Commander's Strike with your attack of opportunity, it's a good call.

I'm pretty sure this has already been covered in a couple of other threads - you add your weapon's enhancement bonus on an attack or dmg ROLL. With Commander's strike, you're not rolling for either attack or dmg, so no dice. (Same as how a fighter's magic weapon doesn't give bonus dmg on cleave or reaping strike dmg). Don't worry about it, you don't need it - Commander's Strike is awesome even without extra bonus damage.

That makes sense. Forget the crazy part of my previous post.
