Complete Arcanic Miniatures

A nice new update over at wotc... here
Complete Arcane introduced brand new reprinted things! yet again! once more! repeated for you another time! tediously printed over and over again like this line!

First of all what constitutes "new" because I remember seing half the stuff in that update in other books. Also point 10 is pretty much the Miniatures Handbook crammed up into another book to appeal to non miniature folk. Which I have no problems with, but its "new" content that bothers me. There are plenty of hard working 3rd party contributors putting together a formidable repertoire of releases. Each one either original or bringing back things from editions long lost to the chronicles of time.

I have many books, many many books. And every time I read the "press release" or speil from WotC I sigh again, and go back to look at one of there releases from earlier that year (almost always within 12 months) to find the same thing. So You will buy it! Of course, because your DM banned the Miniatures handbook (one of mine did) and add to the shelf. Now you have 8 books, 4 books of content and 4 books of over lapping material covered by the others in some regards but nothing is in one source. go to it! buy the book its like the faux leather cover of my respect for wotc.

Well I don't think WotC has overused reprinted stuff, but also I've never considered the MiniHB really part of the D&D RPG :p

Being traditionally fond of wizards and sorcerers, I was looking forward for Complete Arcane myself, but don't worry if I don't see enough use from it, or if I see that part of it is just reprinted, or if just it doesn't feel worth the price, I simply won't buy it and keep using my old Tome & Blood.

Those of use who play in the Forgotten Realms constantly see reprints of realms materials for gamers who buy only the core and core-ish books (splats). It tends to get on the nerves after abit actually when you buy both sets of products and get a decent portion of the material twice and all. :\

Well this is probably true for campaign books. There's always a main book ("XYZ Campaign Setting") with stuff in compressed format which you'll also find in the obligatory "Magic of XYZ" and "Monsters of XYZ", and that's a clear pity.

I was just thinking of buying Oriental Adventures and Rokugan book (if ever I find it to check out first) but already heard that lots of material will be double, but at the same time with just Rokugan you won't have everything you need.

Yeah, OA is being partially transposed, Complete Divine and Frostburn does have some elements from the book. Still waiting on a respectable Samurai though.

Nothing really new being said from my original post. Just dislike the claim at the material being "new"
